Sanrio to hold exhibition celebrating Hello Kitty’s 50th anniversary! Largest ever exhibition of merchandise and tickets with limited edition tote bagsIt has been decided that an exhibition commemorating the 50th anniversary of Sanrio’s popular character Hello Kitty, “Hello Kitty Exhibition – When I Change, Kitty Changes too” will be held. The exhibition will open on November 1st, Hello Kitty’s birthday, at the Hyokeikan building of the Tokyo National Museum, and tickets that come with a limited number of tote bags will go on sale from July 1st.

Half a century has passed since Hello Kitty was born, and today her goods are sold in over 130 countries and regions. She greets her friends around the world with “Hello,” and has always treasured her relationships with each person to convey the message of “everyone getting along.”

The newly-announced “Hello Kitty Exhibition – When I Change, Kitty Changes” will be themed around 50 years of “Kitty and Me,” and will be a new exhibition that unravels the uniqueness that only Hello Kitty possesses.

The venue will feature a variety of themed exhibition corners, as well as the largest number of merchandise on display to date. There will also be collaborative works with unique artists, original video content, photo spots, and plenty more to see.

Discounted advance tickets will go on sale at Ticket Pia from 12:00 on July 1st. Tickets will also be available in limited quantities with an original tote bag featuring a cute design of Hello Kitty peeking out of the paper bag, which is the exhibition’s limited key visual, so fans won’t want to miss out.
