The first part, “Lycorice Recoil”, which was performed in January last year and received great acclaim, had many people looking forward to the second part, as it did not depict the end of the anime. I wonder if there is?
Here, we asked Keigo Kitamura, who plays Mika, to look back on the first movie and talk about his enthusiasm for the second movie.
ーーIt has been about a year and a half since you played Licorice Recoil, but please tell us how you felt when it was decided that you would be starring in a sequel/continuation.
Keigo Kitamura, who plays Mika (hereinafter referred to as Kitamura): When the sequel and sequel were decided, first of all, I was honestly happy to be able to stand in the world of Rico Rico again, and I was excited because this sequel is full of episodes that exceed the previous work. I have it.
ーーHow do you feel looking back on your last performance? Please tell us your impressions of the performances at that time, and any memorable episodes or events that remain in your memory.
Kitamura: My impressions from the first performance were that on the first day of the performance, many people accepted this work with thunderous applause, and that the seats became full with every performance, and that this work was my first time seeing a play on stage. I don’t know if I can describe it as a miracle because there were so many things that happened, but those happy days are truly memorable episodes.
–Please tell us about what you enjoyed and what was difficult about playing your role in the last performance.
Kitamura: There are parts of the roles that I think are similar and things that we have in common, so I had fun playing them from the rehearsal stage. I created my role with the theme of feeling safe like a father or mother. I think the difficult part was that I struggled until the end with the physical expression of using a cane (lol).
–This work will feature serious developments and intense action, so please tell us about your enthusiasm for the role, such as what you are thinking about and what you are looking forward to.
Kitamura: Just like in the previous work, I would like to be able to stand by Mika wholeheartedly and support the Lycoris members with the utmost love. As for my role, there are many scenes in this work where my feelings and emotions are shaken tremendously, so I hope I can always play the role with freshness.
There’s also a battle suit, so training your body is a must! I think the intense action scenes will be a big highlight, so I’m looking forward to that!

Kitamura: The entire troupe will work with love to deliver the best stage performance so that everyone who loves the anime “Licorice Recoil” and the stage play “Licorice Recoil” can enjoy it!
