The first part, “Lycorice Recoil”, which was performed in January last year and received great acclaim, had many people looking forward to the second part, as it did not depict the end of the anime. I wonder if there is?
Here, we asked Himeka Shintani, who plays Himekama, to look back on the first movie and talk about her enthusiasm for the second movie.
ーーIt has been about a year and a half since you played Licorice Recoil, but please tell us how you felt when it was decided that you would be starring in a sequel/continuation.
Himeka Shintani (hereinafter referred to as Shintani) who plays Himekama: I had always thought that I would be happy if there was a second part, so I was really happy when it was decided. I’m also very happy to be able to be part of that wonderful world again, and that the main cast members are all the same. I’m looking forward to playing Himekama again.
ーーHow do you feel looking back on your last performance? Please tell us your impressions of the performances at that time, and any memorable episodes or events that remain in your memory.
Shintani: Last time, Himekama was a performance where we spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to make Himekama stand out with so few lines. There was a line to Robota that said, “Do your best,” and I really liked that line. I remember that the cast members were all really kind and it was a lot of fun.
–Please tell us about what you enjoyed and what was difficult about playing your role in the last performance.
Shintani: I thought a lot about how to leave a lasting impression on everyone in the few scenes I appear in. I also thought that it would be great if I could portray a strong-looking woman through just her lines as I played her. I also love the OP song, so whenever I hear the OP, my heart is filled with excitement.
–This work will feature serious developments and intense action, so please tell us about your enthusiasm for the role, such as what you are thinking about and what you are looking forward to.
Shintani: I’m training my body because I think there’s always going to be action. I do sit-ups every day so that I’m always ready (lol). I’m looking forward to acting in front of everyone for the first time.
–Please give a message to the fans who are looking forward to your performances starting in June.
Shintani: Everyone, I’m sure it’s going to be interesting, so I’d be happy if you could come see it. I’m really happy to be able to be immersed in my favorite worldview again.
