“The Story of the Girl Who Couldn’t Become a Wizard” will air from October 4th! Key visuals, PV, theme song information, and artist comments all unveiled at onceThe original TV animation “The Story of the Girl Who Couldn’t Become a Wizard” was born from the original idea public project “Project ANIMA”. The broadcast start date for this work has been decided as Friday, October 4th!

Along with the announcement, the key visual and the second promotional video with the theme song were released. The opening theme will be “Collage” by “PUFFY and Tsuideni TOOBOE”, and the ending theme will be “Shunkan Saikyou Fuusoku” by halca. Comments from the artists have arrived.

The PV also features the first appearance of the character voices of Minami, the homeroom teacher of Class 1 of the general education department at Letran Magic School, whose cast was announced last month, as well as the students!

While the M class uses an officially approved magic notebook to cast magic, Minami (CV: Yui Horie), the homeroom teacher of Class 1, turns her pen into a walking stick and casts a hand-drawn magic circle. “This school is really full of strange things…” she says, along with the mysterious large tree and flaming dragon on campus, as well as some slightly suspicious characters.

The key visual shows Kurumi and Yuzu jumping out of a magic circle, along with their classmates Maki (voiced by Ayumi Mano) and Asuka (voiced by Yukiya Hayashi), and their twin brother Kyo (voiced by Chiaki Kobayashi), who is a member of the Class M. Behind the students is Minami, who has her index finger over her mouth as if to say “secret.” The visual suggests that the teacher is hiding something.

In addition, it has been decided that the official radio show “Mahonare Radio ~ Letrun Magic Academy Homeroom” will be broadcast from October. Kana Hishikawa, who plays Kurumi, and Misuzu Yamada, who plays Yuzu, will be the hosts and will deliver behind-the-scenes stories and the latest information on “Mahonare”. Please look forward to the information that will be released in the future.

As soon as I saw the artwork and character design, I knew I would love this work! I also love magical girls, so I was totally excited by the beginning of the first episode…♡

I want to watch the whole thing soon! It’s been a while since I’ve come across such an exciting and heart-pounding production! I’m so happy to be involved in this production with PUFFY’s music!

As PUFFY, we have tried various kinds of music, but this was a new challenge and it was quite difficult and tough. So when I saw the anime, I was so happy.

I hope that everyone will love the song just as much as they love the anime.

[PUFFY Profile]

PUFFY debuted in 1996 with the single “Asia no Junshin” produced by Tamio Okuda. Since then, they have had a string of hits including “Kore ga Watashi no Ikiru Michi”, “Circuit no Musume” and “Nagisa ni Matsuwaru Etcetera”.

The animated show “Hi! Hi! Puffy AmiYumi,” which features the girls as the main characters, is broadcast in over 110 countries around the world on America’s No. 1 anime channel, Cartoon Network, and they are active on the world stage as Japanese pop icons. In 2024, they will celebrate their 28th anniversary since their debut. This will be their first time in five years to perform a theme song for a TV anime, since “Chibi Maruko-chan” (2017-2019).

Commonly known as “Mahonare,” it’s a rather unusual shoujo anime for me, and I also participated in providing music for the two members of PUFFY.

I think I’ve managed to express my own style of pop, so I hope it will be familiar to the ears of viewers.

[TOOBOE Profile]

TOOBOE is a solo project by music creator john, which involves a variety of creative activities including songwriting, arranging, singing, illustrations and video.

With his distinctive voice and catchy, addictive songs, he is a multi-artist who transcends the modern music internet scene and J-Pop. In April 2022, he made his major debut with the digital release of his first single “Kokoro”, and the music video for the song surpassed 20 million views on YouTube, the fastest in his career.

“Tablet,” released in November 2022, was chosen as the ending theme for the fourth episode of the TV anime “Chainsaw Man,” and became a hot topic. The music video for “Itai no Itai no Toteike,” released in June 2024, surpassed 10 million views on YouTube in the fastest time in his career.

This is halca, and I will be performing the ending theme for the TV anime “The Story of the Girl Who Couldn’t Become a Wizard.”
