On Sunday, September 23rd (national holiday), the main cast of this work gathered at a stage event held at the Kyoto International Manga and Anime Fair 2024 (KyotoMaf)!
The seven people who participated in the event were Shuichiro Umeda, Chiaki Kobayashi, Shun Horie, Yohei Azakami, Kensho Ono, Ryota Takeuchi, and Tomokazu Sugita. This star-studded cast livened up the atmosphere of Kyoto, where the Shinsengumi once flourished.
The seven of them appeared on stage in colorful kimonos. As the colorful kimonos lined up reminded us of “Shoten,” Tomokazu Sugita quietly said, “From here on, it’s the Ogiri corner…” and the talk began.
With Umeda Shuuichirou saying, “There were a lot of men on set! The dubbing booth was just like a club room!”, the cast members began sharing behind-the-scenes stories from the dubbing studio.
In addition, it was revealed that the dubbing studio has a “Miblog Notebook” in which the cast writes down their thoughts, and some of the messages written there were introduced.
As Ono Kensho’s comment, “It was a fun and lively recording session all with guys! The microphone work was difficult!” was projected onto a slide, it was explained that the dubbing was done with a large number of people taking turns standing in front of the microphone, and it was conveyed that, as Umeda’s comment at the beginning, the dubbing was proceeding in an atmosphere just like a club activity.
At the end of the event, there was a birthday surprise for Takeuchi Ryota, whose birthday happened to be that day!
During the quiz segment, where the seven cast members answered questions with the aim of getting their answers to match exactly, the cast was asked, “Whose birthday is it today among us?” and they all answered “Takeuchi Ryota” with flying colors!
While Sugita commented, “You’re definitely older than me,” Takeuchi, who just turned 42, expressed his gratitude with a slightly embarrassed smile.
Also during the event, it was announced that the ending theme for the anime will be “UNBREAKABLE” sung by THE JET BOY BANGERZ, a 10-member dance and vocal group born from “iCON Z,” the largest audition in LDH history!
A video comment from the members was also shown, with one member delivering the message to the audience, “We’ve created a song that’s perfect for Ao no Mibro.”
