The role of Narushima Rei will be played by Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, and the role of Takanashi Takumi will be played by Kentaro Kumagai.

–Please tell us your impressions of the recording.
Matsuoka: At first, the story flowed powerfully and steadily like waves, so I thought about how to create the shape of the tears that I would be playing from this point on. Well, I started from the very beginning, after all…
Then suddenly she says something like that at the bar. But I didn’t want anyone to think of her as a bitch. She draws a clear line between people and is very pragmatic in her relationships. She makes sure the other person doesn’t like her, and she doesn’t like the other person. I thought Tear was a great girl, but it was also a challenge for me to see how far I could express this, so I was scared until I got to the set.
Kumagai: First of all, when I first heard about this role and found out that my partner would be Yoshitsugu-san, I was so happy! I really haven’t had the chance to work with him one-on-one until now. I think it’s been about 7 or 8 years since I first met Yoshitsugu-san. Now, as I’ve gained more and more experience, I’m happy to be able to act with him one-on-one.
Takanashi-kun can come off as annoying if you make a mistake, but in the original work, Takanashi-kun isn’t annoying at all. So I thought it would be wrong for the listeners to think he’s annoying or “what’s with him” when it was turned into audio. When I was speaking each and every word Takanashi said, I was very conscious of not including any hidden meanings or telling lies.
When I was pitching the lines while working on it in my mind, Yoshitsugu’s Tears accepted them and it was very comfortable and fun. It was a really difficult and delicate piece right to the end, but I felt like I was able to enjoy recording it and rush through it.
–What are some highlights to listen for?
Kumagai: Takanashi is basically a cheerful character. I was trying to portray him as a doggy, a large dog, but there are scenes where he is conscious of his maleness while maintaining that balance. There are scenes where he intentionally pulls her along forcefully, including her feelings for Rui-san, so please try to find out “Is this what he’s talking about?”
Matsuoka: As the story progresses from beginning to end, please listen carefully to how those tears are gradually weeping.
Kumagai: I burned it in.
Matsuoka: Furthermore, if you read the original work while listening to the audio, you will get even more information, so read and listen to them together and be knocked out.
Kumagai: Information from various angles.
Matsuoka: (From all sides) You’ll hear “Rui-irui-irui.”
Everyone: (laughs).

Matsuoka: This is a work that makes you feel like this is what it means to have a work that you can enjoy by watching and listening to it, so I would really appreciate it if you would support both the original and the CD… The next one will be released in a year.
Kumagai: Oh! Here you go!
Matsuoka: And then a year and a half later, we were able to appear.
Kumagai: Okay!
Matsuoka: And now, good luck to the teachers!
Kumagai: Thank you very much!
Matsuoka: I feel like a rival will emerge when the sequel begins.
Everyone: (laughs).
Matsuoka: I really hope everyone is looking forward to it. Thank you very much!
Kumagai: The cast and staff who took part in this recording all came together and worked with love to ensure that they did not destroy the wonderful original work written by the author, and that they were able to convey the unique charm of audio.
