The “Poster Selection” is a project to screen selected films from the famous movie posters displayed in the cinema. This time, Studio Ghibli’s “Princess Mononoke” and “Spirited Away” will be screened as a “Poster Selection Special”.
The cinema is currently showing “How Do You Live?”, which was released on July 14, 2023, so visitors can enjoy three Studio Ghibli films during the “Poster Selection Special” period. In addition, the cinema will also be holding a “Parent-Child Cinema” event for “Spirited Away,” where children can enjoy the film in a child-friendly environment.
In addition, it has been decided to hold the “BESTIA x Iwanami Sound EXPO,” which will screen works by Iwanami Yoshikazu, a sound director who has a wide range of experience in film sound, from animation to dubbing foreign films.
For one week from July 5th to July 11th, nine films that Iwanami was involved in as sound director will be screened on a rotating daily basis: “BLAME!”, “HELLO WORLD”, “SAND LAND”, “Let Me Hear Your Song”, “Girls und Panzer the Movie”, “Girls und Panzer das Finale” episodes 1-4, and “PSYCHO-PASS the Movie”. In addition, on July 6th and 7th, there will be talk shows with Iwanami and special guests at each screening.
In addition, with the aim of “more Chinese films, sooner,” the cinema will also hold a special event called “Movie Festival,” where Chinese films will be screened by “Fun Movies,” a distributor of Chinese films. Chinese animations that have an overwhelming presence in the global animation market in recent years as being of the highest quality and were popular in Japan when they were released, such as “The Legend of Hei,” will also be screened, so be sure to check them out.
In addition, various other screenings will be held in the 5th anniversary special screening “5! 5! 5! 5! Go!!!!!”. The third installment will be announced around the end of June.
