A teaser PV and information on the opening artist were announced at Anime Expo 2024 in Los Angeles, where Tomori Kusunoki, the voice of Ren, appeared.
Today, July 6th (July 5th local time in the US), a panel stage for “SAO Alternative: Gun Gale Online II” was held at Anime Expo, held at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
Approximately 1,700 spectators packed the venue, and Tomori Kusunoki, who plays Len, appeared on behalf of the series. This was Kusunoki’s first appearance as a “GGO” character in six years since his appearance as a SAO character at the “SWORD ART ONLINE SUMMER FESTIVAL 2018” at AnimeExp2018.
“I’m back!” she exclaimed, expressing her joy at being able to appear in AX as the same “GGO” even after so many years. The first half of the panel stage featured a video comment from Hikasa Yoko, who plays Pitohui, and a retrospective talk, interspersed with memories of the first season. In the second half, Aniplex producer Hashimoto appeared to cheers of “G.G.O!” and shared the progress of the second season’s anime production, showing photos from the dubbing studio.
The teaser PV for this work was also shown during the event. This is the first time that scenes from the anime itself can be seen in this video, and in addition to the appearance of main characters Len, Pitohui, M, and Fukajirou, the video also features scenes from the first season, which will heighten expectations for the second season. After the teaser PV was released, there were loud cheers from the audience.
The second season’s opening theme was also announced during the event. The opening artist will be ReoNa, and the opening theme will be “GG .” ReoNa also commented, ” This is the first time I’ve had the opportunity to be involved with such an important work as ReoNa, and I myself am looking forward to the anime airing. ” Please look forward to the release of new songs in the future.
Finally, Kusunoki commented, ” Today I was able to feel how many people overseas are looking forward to this. I hope we can have a GGO stage at AX again! ” The “SAO Alternative: Gun Gale Online II” panel stage at Anime Expo ended with cheers and applause of “G.G.O!”

『ソードアート・オンライン オルタナティブ ガンゲイル・オンライン』は、全世界累計発行部数3,000万部突破『ソードアート・オンライン』（著・川原礫）から生まれた物語。原作・時雨沢恵一氏とキャラクター原案・黒星紅白氏が描く、“もう一つのSAO”である。
