Since releasing their debut single “HONEY FLOWER/We wanna Dive!” on May 24, 2023, they have released a total of three singles, but this is the long-awaited release of an album. In addition to the 1st to 3rd singles, the album includes the new song “Zettai Saikyo Story” and each character’s solo version of their debut song “HONEY FLOWER”. Each single also included a drama episode, and this two-disc set also includes Episode.4, which is the continuation of that.
To celebrate the first anniversary of “Remosuka” and the release of the first album, we interviewed Kikunosuke Toya, who plays Hinata Yuki, and Rikuya Yasuda, who plays Yuuki Takamatsu! Please enjoy this voluminous 10,000-character interview, where they talk about their feelings on the first anniversary, introduce all the songs on the album, and give us some highlights!
–It’s been one year since the release of your first single, “HONEY FLOWER/We wanna Dive!” on May 24, 2023. Please tell us your thoughts and any memorable events.
Kikunosuke Toya (hereinafter, Toya): I think all the songs are great. For example, I was happy to be able to sing my debut song “HONEY FLOWER”, which was written by HoneyWorks, and “We wanna Dive!”, which was written by Yuuyu, is also a very uplifting song. All the songs I sang were great, and I had fun recording them.
Yasuda Rikuya (hereinafter, Yasuda): When we all recorded Episode 4 of the drama included in the first album, it had been a while since we had recorded a drama for “Remosuka”, but there were new cast members and I was also happy to be able to talk with Toya-kun, who recorded separately for Episode 3. This time, I was excited to see Hirose Yuya, who plays Shindo Kanata, the center of the newly introduced rival group “Eclius”, bring a breath of fresh air to the group. Although he only had one line, I thought, “He really brought it to the table,” and I’m even more excited for what’s to come.
–Releasing three singles in one year must have felt fast and intense.
Toya: They held release events every time, and being able to meet the fans face-to-face allowed me to feel the excitement, which encouraged me to work even harder in the future.
Yasuda: The other day, I appeared at a talk event and poster handover event for our first album, and for the first time I was able to hear everyone’s voices directly. I learned things like, “They like this about the characters,” or, “This combination of characters is surprisingly popular.” The more events we do, the better we understand, and there are many things we can use in future recordings, so it’s a learning experience every time.
–Also, music videos for each song have been uploaded on the official YouTube channel ( https://www.youtube.com/@lemosqua ), and for “HONEY FLOWER” there is even a music video that shows each cast member recording.
Yasuda: It was my first time to have a live-action MV filmed like that, and I was extremely nervous when we were filming. Toya-kun was in front of me, and he was really cool.
Toya: Was it that cool?
Yasuda: Yes. It’s like he’s been through a lot of hell.
Toya: That’s not true!
Yasuda: My junior, Sumiya (Tetsue), who plays Asakura Eito, is also smiling. Yusei, who I play, is a boy who is good at everything, but I’m clumsy (laughs).
–The hurdles have become higher depending on the character.
Yasuda: That’s right.
Toya: Everyone was good at showing off when they were singing in the music video, and Toki (Shunichi), who played Hojo Minato, was also expressive and wonderful. I learned a lot from watching everyone’s reactions one by one.
–Your first album will be released on June 26th.
戸谷：「こんなに曲数があっていいんですか？」って。『レモスカ』とChroma7reeのすべてが詰まっているといっても過言ではないし、新たにドラマのEpisode.4も収録されて、『レモスカ』第2ステージ突入！ みたいな感じになっていくので、これからどんな展開が待っているのかなという期待感も抱かせてくれて。『レモスカ』のこれまでとこれからを楽しめるアルバムになっていると思います。
安田：この作品は、公式YouTubeチャンネルで曲やドラマなどをたくさんアップしていただいているので、「こんなにアップしていたらアルバム買ってくれなくなっちゃうんじゃないかな？」と心配になるくらいで。でも各曲のフルver.や「HONEY FLOWER」のソロver.などアルバムでしか聴けないものも入っているので、皆さんに絶対、アルバムを買って聴いてほしくて。僕自身もYouTubeでショートver.を聴くと「もっと聴きたい！ 最後まで聴きたい！」と思っちゃいます。攻めながらもうまく購入欲をかきたててくるな～って（笑）。
――改めて1stから3rdまでの収録曲を聴いてみると、サビや2コーラス目には仕掛けがあって。これはフルで聴かないと、曲全部を味わい尽くしたことにはならないですよね。
安田：そうなんです！ だから早くアルバムを届けたい気持ちでいっぱいです。
戸谷：あとトラックリストをみてみると、こんなに歌ってきたんだなと。
安田：それと全員で歌っていた曲も歌割はありますが、実は一人ずつフルで歌っていたので、「ソロver.もいつか出すのかな？」と思ってました。そして今回、「HONEY FLOWER」のソロver.が収録されたので、「やっと来たか」と。僕自身のソロver.も聴いてみたかったし、他の方のソロver.も聴いてみたかったので、そこも楽しみの1つでした。
――ジャケットイラストをご覧になった感想は？
安田：今まではそれぞれのメンバーカラーを主張するようなイラストになっていましたが、今回はそれぞれの色を持ちつつもメンバーが一つになって、足並みがそろってきた感じがして。Episode.0からEpisode.4まで続いてきたことで、より一体感が増したなと思います。
戸谷：Episode.4でそれぞれのメンバーの絆も深まった気がするし。
安田：あと新しいイラストというだけでテンションが上がるよね。
戸谷：わかる！ わかる！
安田：結婚式に出席するの？ みたいな。
戸谷：そうだ！ リリースされるのは6月26日だからまさにジューンブライドにピッタリじゃん！ 結婚式にChroma7reeの曲をかけてくれたら大感激です！
安田：その時には今回収録される新曲の「絶対最強ストーリー」を！
