“Gachiakuta” will be made into a TV anime by Bones in 2025! A battle fantasy currently being serialized in “Magazine”It has been announced that the manga “Gachiakuta” currently being serialized in “Weekly Shonen Magazine” will be adapted into a TV anime in 2025 by the animation studio BONES. In conjunction with this, the kick-off visual and PV have been released. Congratulatory illustrations and comments have also arrived from the original author Urana Kei (manga) and Ando Hideyoshi (graffiti design).

“Gachiakuta” is a manga by Urana Kei and graffiti design by Ando Hideyoshi that began serialization in February 2022 in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine. It depicts a battle action story starring Rudo, an orphan boy born in a slum where the descendants of criminals live. It won the Global Special Award in the Comics category at the Next Manga Awards 2022. As Urana was developing the concept, he thought that incorporating graffiti art would make the story more interesting, and with the help of graffiti artist Ando, the story was born.

The TV anime adaptation announced this time will be directed by Suganuma Fumihiko, who has worked on such works as “The Eccentric Family,” “SHIROBAKO,” and “THE FIRST SLAM DUNK,” and animation will be produced by the animation studio BONES, known for “Eureka Seven,” “My Hero Academia,” and “Fullmetal Alchemist.” In addition, the series will be composed by Seko Koji, who worked on “Attack on Titan The Final Season” and “WIND BREAKER,” and character design and general animation director will be Ishino Satoshi, who worked on “AICO Incarnation” and “Godzilla SP.”

The kick-off visual, which was also unveiled, shows the main character, Rudo, falling into the abyss. As the tagline states, “The world will change. All common sense will be overturned.”, the sense of foreboding stirs up anticipation. The kick-off PV is a spectacular fusion of the original comics, the anime settings, and graffiti art by Ando.

Along with the announcement of the TV anime adaptation, illustrations and comments from Urana and a comment from Ando have arrived. Comments have also been received from the staff, including Director Suganuma, series composer Seko, and character designer and chief animation director Ishino.

In addition, it was also revealed that a panel event for this work will be held at Anime EXPO 2024, the largest anime exhibition in the United States, to be held in Los Angeles, USA. Behind-the-scenes stories of the anime’s production will be discussed with the participation of BONES, the animation production company, a producer from Avex, and an editor from Kodansha. Original limited edition goods will also be distributed at the venue as a special gift to visitors.
