The kickoff visual shows the main character, Rudo, falling into an abyss. Just as the tagline says, “The world will change. All common sense will be overturned,” the sense of foreboding builds expectations.

The kickoff PV is a stunning video that combines the original comics, anime settings, and graffiti art by Ando Hideyoshi.

“Gachiakuta” is a battle action story starring Rudo, an orphan boy born in a slum area where the descendants of criminals live. The manga is by Urana Kei and graffiti design is by Ando Hideyoshi, and began serialization in Kodansha’s Weekly Shonen Magazine in February 2022.

“Gachiakuta” won the Global Special Award in the comics category of the Next Manga Awards 2022.

While Urana was developing the concept for “Gachiakuta,” he thought that incorporating graffiti art would make the game more interesting, so he enlisted the help of graffiti artist Ando Hideyoshi.

The enemies are “common sense,” “power,” and “discrimination and prejudice”!

The much talked about and shocking manga is finally set to be made into a TV anime in 2025!

The director will be Suganuma Fumihiko, who has worked on “The Eccentric Family” (director), “SHIROBAKO” (director), and “THE FIRST SLAM DUNK” (director), the series composition will be handled by Seko Koji, who has worked on “Attack on Titan The Final Season” (series composition/scriptwriter) and “WIND BREAKER” (series composition/scriptwriter), and the character designer and chief animation director will be Ishino Satoshi, who has worked on “AICO Incarnation” (character designer/chief animation director) and “Godzilla SP” (character designer/chief animation director).

The animation will be produced by BONES, the animation studio behind “Eureka Seven,” “My Hero Academia,” and “Fullmetal Alchemist.”

Streetwise – this was the first phrase that came to my mind when I read “Gachiakuta”. The knowledge and insight that Urana-sensei and Hideyoshi-san gained from learning on the streets, not in the classrooms of schools, and sometimes suffering painful experiences, but still surviving bravely, is scattered throughout this work.

That’s what I think. That’s why, every time I turn the page, I feel the rough and clumsy, yet straightforward and powerful, somehow nostalgic, old-school street style. I love that kind of work so much.

I feel that the appeal of “Gachiakuta” lies in the story, Urana’s illustrations, Hideyoshi’s graffiti, and the worldview of the work.

The characters that Uranai draws are all amazing, with a wide variety of facial expressions, a sense of dynamism, and sketches. I hope to be able to express the charm of Uranai’s drawings well.

A panel event for the TV anime “Gachiakuta” has been scheduled at Anime EXPO 2024, the largest anime exhibition in the United States, to be held in Los Angeles, USA!

The event will feature the animation studio BONES, producers from Avex, and editors from Kodansha, who will talk about the behind-the-scenes stories of the anime’s production. In addition, original limited edition goods will be distributed as a special gift to visitors.
