The first in-store event for “Color Sonic”! As always, Shoya Chiba, who plays Komiyayama Arashi, and Yuto Uemura, who plays Kirishima Sora, look back on the emotional “Tokyo Color Sonic!! the BUDDY CASE by SPHERE RISE” [Event Report]”Tokyo Color Sonic!! the BUDDY” is a streaming drama series with the theme of “The time each buddy spends”. In addition to the downloadable version, a collectible edition will be sold for each buddy, which includes a serial code for downloading the drama and a CD-style clear disc!

The release event for “Tokyo Color Sonic!! the BUDDY CASE by SPHERE RISE”, which was released on August 23, 2024, was held at Animate Ikebukuro Main Store on September 6th, where Shoya Chiba, who plays Komiyayama Arashi, and Yuto Uemura, who plays Kirishima Sora, talked about the recording of “SPHERE RISE” and performed a reading play written exclusively for the event.

Chiba and Kamimura rushed to meet the fans and were full of energy as this was Color Sonic’s first in-store event! They hinted that the event would be full of talk, and the venue quickly became filled with a friendly atmosphere as they shared their thoughts and behind-the-scenes stories about the live show “Tokyo Color Sonic!! Special Live ~TRUE CROWN~” held on August 11th.

When talking about the contents of the latest drama, Uemura said, “It was the same as always, but it was also the same as always…”, but he also said that there were some scenes that made him tear up through the problems with the brothers and the Komiyama family. Meanwhile, Chiba mentioned a scene that caught his attention, saying, “When Arashi was being looked at passionately by a girl, Sora said something like he knew a lot about girls…”, to which Uemura said, “That’s apparently true! I heard from behind the scenes that Sora has more experience (laughs),” revealing a new side of Sora, drawing laughter from the audience.

The drama depicted the everyday lives of Arashi and Sora, but Uemura, who saw them once again facing music, commented that it was “a learning experience.” Chiba agreed, saying that it was dazzling to see them express their love for music honestly, without being swayed by it.

As the conversation turned to past episodes, Uemura said that “Trust” left a strong impression on him. After “Karasoni,” they paired up with different partners at “Growing Fes.”, which created a chemical reaction that started out as two people who didn’t quite click together, but in the end, it was Arashi who was able to hold Sora together that made the music fun, and he recalled that he liked that flow. In addition, it was revealed that the dubbing at the time was done carefully and thoroughly, and the highlight of the second half was given the OK in one take. The two talked about how this is something that is not easy to do, but the appeal of the song is the “live feeling” that comes from recording it all in one take.

After that, they continued to look back on the past episodes, but the topic was the April Fool’s Day project “Tokimeki❤Ironoha Academy – A Melody of Love Played with You”. Uemura-san said that during normal recordings, Sora is the one who tends to get shy screams, but when he received cheers from the crowd, he felt like “I’m playing Sora, right!?” Chiba-san said with a wry smile that in addition to the fact that Arashi is not the kind of person who is good at making jokes, he recently found out that he can’t talk to girls, which left him confused and thinking “What should I do!?”, and he ended up re-recording the scene many times.

The conversation began with Chiba talking about how one of the great things about Kara Sonic is the wide range of roles they can play, and he talked about how as he gained experience he was able to express himself more freely, such as Arashi’s singing voice, which is said to be “warm,” and how he best expresses the meaning of the lyrics through singing. Both Uemura and the audience listened with interest.
