The official report of the event has just arrived. The main cast members, Toya Kikunosuke and Shimada Aino, took to the stage at the event. In addition to enjoying interacting with enthusiastic North American fans, after the panel ended, the first episode of season 2 was screened for the first time in the world, generating a lot of excitement.
A talk panel for the TV anime “The Seven Deadly Sins: The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” was held at the Asian pop culture festival “OTAKON 2024” held in Washington DC, USA.
The main cast members, Kikunosuke Toya (voice of Donny), Aino Shimada (voice of Naciens), and producer Takuma Kishida participated as MCs. When the guests took to the stage, they were greeted with loud cheers from the enthusiastic fans in North America, and the cast members, who said they were looking forward to taking to the stage as this was their first time participating in Otakon, gave speeches of thanks to the many fans who had gathered.
“The Seven Deadly Sins: The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse” began streaming on Netflix in the US in January of last year, and the second half of the first season was released on June 27th. The production of the second season has already been announced, and the story of this popular series is expected to continue. First, a retrospective promotional video was shown, highlighting the highlights of the first season. The guests broke into big smiles as they watched the reactions of overseas fans who were enjoying the video and cheering.
During the talk, the guests introduced the unique and charming characters, including Donny and Naciens, played by the guests, as well as the protagonists Percival, Anne, and Lancelot. They also commented on some harmonious episodes that took place during the dubbing recording, which included many of the star-studded cast members. Director Maki Kodaira also commented on the performances of the cast members, saying, “Everyone is growing together with their characters, and they are now indispensable members of this production.”
Furthermore, as a special message, Nakaba Suzuki, the author of the original work, commented on Toya’s Donnie, saying, “I absolutely love how stupid Toya plays Donnie. That said, he is just so cool in serious scenes. I think it’s thanks to his well-balanced voice and acting that Donnie has become an indispensable mood maker at the party.” Also, regarding Nasciens, played by Shimada, he said, “When he first appeared he was a Mad Harvelist who kept his emotions in check as much as possible, but after becoming friends with Percival (especially in front of Percival), Shimada’s cuteness began to peek into his acting, and I think he has become even more charming.” The guests, who had not been informed of Suzuki’s comments in advance, were delighted to hear these comments.
At the end of the panel, the speakers expressed their joy at being involved in Otakon and shared their thoughts on what to look forward to in season two, bringing the talk event to a close.
Toya: “Percival’s team got stronger and stronger in the first season, so I’m really looking forward to seeing how they’ll get even stronger from now on. I want you to see not only the strength of each individual, but also their teamwork and fighting combinations. Thank you for coming today!”
Shimada-san: “The first season ends with the protagonist facing his nemesis, King Arthur, which I think is an interesting ending for those who haven’t read the original work. I hope you’ll keep an eye on how that battle turns out. Thank you for today!”
After the panel ended, the first episode of the second season was screened for the first time in the world. At the end of the first season, the nemesis Arthur appears and overwhelms Percival and his friends with his incredible strength. The first episode of the second season depicts a powerful battle, and after the screening, many fans gave it a round of applause and cheers, showing the excitement of even greater expectations for the broadcast.
