PA Works is an animation production company based in Nanto, Toyama Prefecture, that produces many original story works. Based on the philosophy of “making a light that illuminates the future,” the company is challenging itself with various genres, and aims to create works that make creators and viewers involved in animation think “I’ll do my best tomorrow too.”
His major works include “True Tears”, “Angel Beats!”, “Hanasaku Iroha”, “SHIROBAKO”, “The Eccentric Family”, “Paripi Koumei”, “Skip and Loafer”, and “Welcome to Komada Distillery”. In 2018, he established the “PA Training School”, a training school for creators, and is also committed to nurturing the next generation.
At the upcoming “P.A. Works Animation Workshop: We’ll Teach You All the Professional Techniques,” active animators from P.A. Works will teach professional drawing know-how to children living in Toyama, Ishikawa, and Fukui. You can learn how the animation you normally watch is made and experience the drawing process, with active professional animators from P.A. Works serving as instructors.
At the end of the workshop, the completed video will be screened, and you can experience the excitement and sense of accomplishment of seeing your own drawing come to life. In addition, although photography is not permitted inside the museum, there will be a special tour of the creators’ work spaces (studios), which are normally off-limits, and you will be able to see the professionals at work.
“P.A. Works Animation Workshop: We’ll Teach You Plenty of Professional Techniques” will be held on August 3rd and 4th, 2024, at P.A. Works’ headquarters in Nanto City Creator Plaza. Participation is free and includes lunch. 20 participants per day will be recruited for the lower grades (4th to 6th grade elementary school students) and upper grades (junior high and high school students, university, junior college, and vocational school students).
