Bartender'' is a stylish bar story for adults that revolves around alcohol and people, and the story revolves around Tame Sasakura, a young genius bartender who is nicknamed
Glass of the Gods.” After returning from Paris and starting working at a bar in Ginza, Tame is visited by customers with a wide variety of circumstances and lifestyles. Sometimes the glass offered to them changes their lives, and sometimes it brings a little comfort to their hearts.
The original manga was serialized in Super Jump'' and
Grand Jump” from 2004 to 2012 by the duo Shiro and Nagatomo, and has a circulation of 3.6 million copies as of September 2022. This work not only stimulates your desire for knowledge about bars and alcohol, but also touches on the human drama that unfolds in bars.
At this event, you can actually drink cocktails with various anecdotes that appear in the story. anime! anime! The editorial department also actually visited the event.
When you enter Tokyo Midtown Hibiya, you will arrive at the event venue right in front of the entrance! I visited around 5pm on a weekday and there was a bit of a line, but since there is a time limit of 45 minutes or 3 cocktails per person, I was able to get in quickly.
For two days, May 31st and June 1st, you can enjoy the special cocktail “Lion City” created by Masanori Ayukawa, who is the original cocktail supervisor for this work.
Three members of the editorial team visited and ordered a variety of cocktails. The special cocktail “Lion City” (below, in front of the photo) has a refreshing citrus flavor and is easy to drink!
Singapore Sling/Savoy Style'' (photo back), which also appears in episode 7 of the anime, was featured in
Your Cocktail Diagnosis ” , where the main character, Tame, recommends cocktails to suit your mood at the time, so I decided to give it a try. Refreshingly sweet with a tropical taste. The “Bull Shot” (pictured right), which has the flavor of beef bouillon and can be enjoyed like a meal, is a hot cocktail that will warm your body.
For the second drink, I ordered “Gin Fizz” that appeared in episode 3, “Alexander” that appeared in episode 6 and enjoyed the adult flavor of cacao liqueur, and “Lion City”. The editorial department was feeling tipsy after having so much fun.
Cocktails start at 500 yen (tax included), so even beginners can easily enjoy authentic cocktails. According to the people involved, the event attracts many fans of the original work and anime, but there also seem to be many people who just come by.
Kenji Nakano, winner of the Suntory The Cocktail Award, will appear as a guest bartender on June 5th (Wednesday)! You can try out special cocktails, including those that won awards.
