The original work of Gintama'' is a science fiction historical drama manga serialized in
Weekly Shonen Jump” by Hideaki Sorachi, which has sold over 58 million copies. Set in Edo, a town whose values have suddenly changed due to the invasion of aliens, the story follows Gintoki Sakata, the last samurai with an unchanging “soul,” and his friends, also known as Gin-san, who runs a Yorozuya store. It depicts a life that will make you laugh, cry, and warm your heart.
It is a thrilling entertainment packed with heart-pounding gags, spectacular action, and humanity and bonds, and has been made into an animated TV and theater series, as well as a live-action film. From June 21st, “Gintama On Theater 2D Ikkoku Kyojohen”, a re-edited version of popular episodes, will be screened for a limited period of three weeks.
