The main cast members of this work, Ishibashi Yosai, Ono Kensho, and Tsuchiya Shinba, have finally had a talk! This time, as a “San Ryo Gattai Special Interview,” we’ve decided to do something a little different from usual, by having them write their answers in a sketchbook.
(To put it bluntly, it’s a sign of respect for Gamma-senpai.)

–I previously interviewed Ishibashi-san and Ono-san individually, but in the interviews for “Shinkalion CW,” the line “Ryota is just like Tsuchiya-san” always comes up. What do you think about Tsuchiya-san, who plays Ryota Kuzuryu, being described by everyone as “Ryota himself”?
Shimba Tsuchiya (hereafter, Tsuchiya): Frankly, I’m happy. I have a desire to be seen as the character itself, and I’m also attracted to the individuality and character of Kuzuryu Ryota, so I’m very happy that people see me that way.
— I could sense how close you all were in past interviews, as you always mentioned that. So, for this interview, I’d like to add a little more variety and have you write your answers in a sketchbook, just like Gamma-senpai.
First of all, having acted so far, please tell us which scene or line has been the most memorable for you. Can I start with Ishibashi-san?
Ishibashi Hiyori (hereinafter, Ishibashi): It has to be “Grand Cross”. The story itself, which features Grand Cross from episodes 11 to 13, was also memorable, including how Taisei, Akane, and Ryota’s feelings gradually drift apart, but in the end they all come together and save their sister (Taisei Ina).
Grand Cross is a technique that has appeared in previous series, so I was always excited to see “When will Taisei use it?” What’s more, this time’s Grand Cross is a double-edged sword, in that you can defeat the enemy while taking damage yourself.
I chose “Grand Cross” because it’s rare, having only been used once in the movie, and I thought the CG, effects, and visuals were all fantastic.
–Thank you. Well, I’m going to go in the order in which the Shinkalion was driven in the story, so next I’d like to hear your answer, Mr. Tsuchiya.
Tsuchiya: For me it was episode 4, “Ryota’s True Feelings.” During the recording, the director brought out my acting. I was looking forward to seeing how it would turn out, and when I watched the broadcast, it was a total work of art, combining pictures and sounds. I was moved by the work “Shinkalion CW,” so I think it was episode 4.
— It was also good that Ryota was able to get on board “E7 Kagayaki” by expressing his true feelings. And Ono’s final answer was a little different from the other two…
Ono Kensho (hereinafter, Ono): Do you understand?
Ishibashi: What are those three bumps?
Ono: It’s a tree.
Ishibashi, Tsuchiya: Got it!
Ono: I chose the scene in episode 18 where Taisei and Ryota are hiding in the bushes. Although I felt that their actions were a little sissy (laughs).
Akane is also worried that the combination of the three cars won’t go well, and she can’t find a clear reason for being the only one to ride the Shinkalion. Furthermore, her friends are forcing her to choose between the track and field club and the railway club, which is a difficult scene. At that time, Taisei and Ryota are watching Akane from the bushes, but they’re definitely going to find out. I thought that feeling was funny.
アカネの「今は陸上部の方が……」という言葉だけ聞いて、タイセイとリョータが悲しそうに帰っていくところも、ガサガサと草の音を立てて帰っていく様子が少し切なくて好きなシーンです。
――第18話は印象深いシーンが多い回でしたよね。意外にもガンマ先輩は絵が上手かったり、逆にイナさんは絵心があまりないとか。
小野：情報が多い回ですよね。だから、賑やかな場面もあって、とても好きな回ですね。
