“pioniX”, formed by two units belonging to rival companies teaming up as part of the “X Lied Project”, is currently active.
From “pioniX”, the unit song CD “XX is blooming” will be released on November 29, 2024. This time, we will bring you an official interview and off-shots of the four members who have finished recording the song. Please check it out ♪

–Please tell us your thoughts on recording the songs for “Blooming Stage.”
Tadokoro: As I was singing, I thought that the song would really bring out the individuality of each of the four members of Nyx (pioniX). Each member has a different color, but they all come together, and that’s what Nyx is all about.
We’ve been through a lot so far, and each of our pasts have been depicted, so we know things like “this person was thinking this” or “this person has had this happen to them,” and that’s why we feel a sense of strength from the path we’ve taken to the future. The lyrics in the first chorus, “I’m sure he’s by my side,” turn into the last chorus, and we realize that “he was by my side,” and we think, “Okay, let’s all do our best from now on!” It’s an encouragement to myself, and it’s an encouragement to the people listening, so I thought it was a very encouraging song.
Chiba: Anyway, it was a very happy and fun song to sing. Of course, it’s a song that makes you feel like everyone is facing the same direction, in the sense of “unity” that all of us are singing together, but in this drama, each of us had a solo part, so it felt like we were all singing the same song in different places. The lyrics say, “We painted each of our own futures on a blank canvas,” and the image that came to mind was that each of us was walking our own path, and those paths overlapped and intersected, and became Nix.
There is a line in the song called “A Bouquet of Flowers,” and it’s like each member of Nix brought a bunch of flowers, put them all together in a bouquet so big they couldn’t hold it all together, and gave it to all the fans. It’s a song with a happy image like that. Roan loves songs like this (laughs), so he was really happy singing it. That’s why I thought it was a song I’d like to sing at live shows and festivals. At the very end of the live show, everyone was wearing T-shirts instead of costumes, and the members ran all over the live venue, throwing balls to the first and second floors, and it was a song that felt like “everyone together,” so it was really fun.
Sumiya: It’s a bright, fast-paced song that expresses gratitude, and each part feels very positive, so it’s more like a song that Roan-kun would sing. The CD will include both the solo version and the unit version, so I’m looking forward to seeing what happens.
Even if it’s a bit embarrassing to say, that’s the straightforwardness of Gen’yu… He was quite aggressive in the beginning of “Kabuki”. He looked down on the world, and had an aggressiveness like “I’ll get back at you”, but now he’s mellowed out. It’s not that he wasn’t particularly sociable to begin with, but by talking to other teams and interacting with everyone, he seems to have become more sparkling, going from yin to yang, saying things like “everything that represents the present is shining.”
For me, the way I sing Genyuu is like letting out all the feelings I have inside, or rather, I sing quite huskily and with a certain edge, which I think makes him sound like Genyuu, so if I just sang normally and straight, the chorus and other parts were in a rather delicate place (laughs). I thought that if I sang it in a rounded way, it might sound too gentle, but this time, I started with a blank expression at first, and gradually started to smile towards the chorus, so I sang with a slightly different expression and image of Genyuu than usual.
Nakajima: It felt like a really opening theme. After NIXLIVE, the next CD we released was a shuffle, so I thought it was a new development for pioniX, but this song gives you that kind of feeling, like it’s the second chapter. Flowers are associated with spring and summer, so it has a refreshing image, and there’s also a call and response feel to it, so I thought it would be a song that would really shine in a live performance.
–Please tell us what you think are the highlights and recommended aspects of the song.
田所：ラスサビで不思議と気持ちが乗ってきて、自分でも思いがけないニュアンスが出たところがあったので、そこを聴いてもらえたらと思います。どこかわからなかったらすみませんって感じなんですけど（笑）。今回、ドラマでもそうなんですけど、“ニヤニヤ零さん”を見ていただけると思います。もともとそういう人でもあるんだろうなって思いますけど、より朗らかになった零がどんどん出てきているので、この4人だからこそ出てくる零もいるよね、みたいなところでやってみました。
千葉：僕はいつもユニット曲のときは、呂庵くんがどこを見てどこに向かって歌っているかというのをすごく意識していて、それをニクスのメンバーで共有して一緒にみなさんに届ける、みたいな感覚が強いんです。だけどソロバージョンでは、呂庵くんの持っているパワーで皆をハッピーにする、という気持ちでやったので、そういう意味では、伸び伸びと好き勝手に歌わせていただきました（笑）。その細かいニュアンスだったりとか、「あぁ、こっちの呂庵くんはこんなふうに歌っているんだなぁ」とか「呂庵くんひとりだとこういう感じで歌うんだぁ」みたいなのを楽しんでいただけたらうれしいなーーーと思っております。
1番も好きなんですけど、2番が結構ニクスらしさというか、これまでのニクスがあったからこそ歌っている、みたいなところをすごく感じる部分があって、「次のステージへ光辿って」なんて、またちょっと新しいはじまりを感じさせたりもしますし、2番サビがすごく優しい歌詞になっているのがとても好きです。ここは特にこだわって何テイクも録ってみたりしたので、ぜひじっくり浴びていただけたらなと思います。
住谷：結構ツルッと録ったというのもあって、この音の運びは意外と難しかったです。でも2番頭の「僕たちの足跡は刻まれている 全てを分かち合うたび 気持ちはもっと深く繋がるんだ」という歌詞は割と好きですね。
中島：だいたい最後に録ることが多いから、今までだと皆のニュアンスに合わせて録ることが多かったんですけど、今回は好きにやっていいよ、ということだったので、ソロ曲とはちょっとまた違うけど個性は出ている気がするので楽しんでいただけたら嬉しいです。
あと、「彩るよ」は一応、ニクスバージョンでソロパートになる予定のところだから、何かちょっと“ニュアンスはほしいな”っていうのはずっと思っていて。もらったデモの仮歌で入れていただいていたニュアンスが好きだったのでそれを入れつつ、ポップスだから、この音域だったら息がかなり出るなと思って、全体的に息は多めで歌っていたかもしれないです（笑）。士欧って結構色気がある人だと思うので、最年少感もありつつ、でもちょっとずつ大人になってる感も出ていると思います。
——ドラマ収録で印象に残った点や聞きどころを教えてください！
田所：ニクス自体ひさびさに集まった感じだけど、ひさびさ感はなかったですね。それだけ仲がよくなっているのかな、それぐらいチームになってるんだなっていう感じはしました。あと、なんで今回、零はあんなに微笑んでいたんですかね（笑）。ディレクターさんから直しをもらうんですけど、零が士欧に対してだけ、いじりキャラになってきているんですよ。ちょっとやると、「いや、それ、やりすぎです」って言われて（笑）。そこが少しだけ変化があったところだと思います。
千葉：あらためてひさしぶりに4人で集まって新しい企画会議をするところで、今までニクスでいろいろ重ねてきて、いろんなことがあって、それぞれに変化があったんだなっていうのが、すごくわかりやすく出ていてよかったなぁって……。その中に「SEASONS」の話があったり、ニクスとしてちゃんと積み上げてきたものだったりとかがドラマの中に感じられて、それこそ零さんのパートの「桜」とか、細かいところでもそういう部分がいろいろ見えたのが、いちファンとして“フフッ”てなったポイントでした（笑）。
住谷：一人一人の花の思い出みたいなパートが、めっちゃよかったです。昔の玄尉を演じるのがとてもひさしぶりだったから「感情が出過ぎちゃった！」と思って（笑）。「抑えて、抑えて」っていうところがいくつかあって、自分で気をつけながら演じていました。
中島：（あるシーンで相手を）士欧が落としにいってるみたいになっている気がすると思いながら割とフラットに演じたら、「もっとやってください」って言われて、やっぱ落としにいってるじゃん、って（笑）。士欧はもともと外面がめちゃめちゃいい人なので、それが最近の士欧と、少し前の士欧のギャップがあって、ちょっと戸惑いましたね。
——ファンのみなさまにメッセージをお願いします。
田所：今回の曲はポップで明るくて、ニクスの4人の一体感がさらに強まったような、前向きですごくポジティブな曲なので、皆さんにもこれを聴いて「何か頑張ろう！」って気になっていただけたら幸いです。ぜひ聴いてください。
千葉：楽曲とドラマと合わせて、すごく明るくて前向きでニクスらしくて。新しい1歩じゃないですけど、すごくステキな内容になっているので、みなさんの日々の生活の彩りになったら嬉しいなぁなんて思っています。楽曲は「横並びでみんなで一緒に」っていう感じがすごくするので、みなさんにもニクスと一緒に、明るく前を向いて進んでいただけたらいいなと思っています。よろしくお願いします。
住谷：前向きな曲だし、ドラマの内容も次に繋がる前向きな、ここからはじまるような内容になっているとは思うんですけど、今までの関係性を積み重ねてきたからこそ、今のこのほんわかとした状態がある、というところもあると思うんです。だからこれを聴いていただきつつ、ここで1回締めみたいな感じというか、これを機に今までの曲をリリースした順にまた聴いて、ここまでやってきたんだなみたいな、時の流れと軌跡を感じていただけたら嬉しいです。
中島：我々もライブを経験して、「XXシリーズ」ではシャッフルという形でいろんな組み合わせの曲が出たり、ちょっとトリッキーな動きをしてきたぶん、今回は結構ド真ん中のことをまたやっている印象です。ドラマでは次のお話のスタートっぽい感じで、4人でいるけど、4人が絡まないシーンがあったりするのは結構おもしろいなと思いました。また新しいニクスの幕開けを感じていただけたらありがたいです。
