To celebrate the release of the second part, a “release commemorative stage greeting” will be held at Shinjuku Wald 9 on Sunday, August 11th (national holiday), with the four cast members of Yuzuru Band (Aoyama Yoshino, Suzushiro Sayumi, Mizuno Saku, and Hasegawa Ikumi) taking to the stage!
During the event, a lot of new information about the second part was revealed, and Ado, who is active as a singer, also gave a comment to the cast, which livened up the venue.
The theatrical premiere of “Theatrical Compilation Botchi the Rock! Re:Re:” was on Friday, August 9th. On Sunday, August 11th (national holiday), a stage greeting was held to commemorate the release of “Theatrical Compilation Botchi the Rock! Re:Re:”, with the four cast members Aoyama Yoshino (role of Goto Hitori), Suzushiro Sayumi (role of Ijichi Nika), Mizuno Saku (role of Yamada Ryo), and Hasegawa Ikumi (role of Kita Ikuyo) gathering together.
When asked about the highlights of the second part, which has been generating excitement since the day it was released, Aoyama said, “It’s rare for a TV anime work to be made into a theatrical compilation, so I was reminded that it’s amazing that so many people can see it, even in the second part.” Hasegawa then asked the audience, “What did those who saw the compilation think?”, which elicited thunderous applause from the audience.
The opening theme for this film is a new song and the third track of the mysterious series that will be performed for the first time in a live performance, “Doppelganger.” Hasegawa, who sang the song, revealed that he was shocked, saying, “When I went to the studio to record, I heard that this might be the third track, and I can’t believe I came up with that…!” Mizuno also expressed similar surprise, saying, “When I participated in the chorus, I heard that it might be the third track, and I said that was really exciting!”
Hasegawa looked emotional as he recalled that time, saying, “Even during recording, we had a lot of discussions about how to sing it.”
Furthermore, regarding the opening footage which depicts the members’ summer vacation, which was not shown in the TV series, Suzushiro commented, “I felt that in the second half in particular, we were able to see a lot of the things that people who watched the TV anime would have imagined but weren’t shown, and that were exactly what I wanted to see. The way everyone spent their time was very realistic (laughs).
Regarding the large number of new scenes used, Hasegawa reflected, “I never imagined that the resolution of the character Kita Ikuyo, which I play, would be increased in the compilation, so I thought it was great to be able to see it again.”
Aoyama continued, “In the TV anime, Goto was portrayed as the sole protagonist, but in the second part, Kita seemed to be the main character, and I felt that each character shone because they each had their own charm. I realized once again that it was a really great work…”
Regarding the fact that the ending theme is a cover version of ASIAN KUNG-FU GENERATION’s “Re:Re:,” which is also the subtitle of this album, Aoyama frankly stated, “When I saw the title, I thought I might sing it.”
“I think one of the characteristics of Yuzuru Band’s songs is that they aren’t really character songs, but when it came to Hitori-chan’s song, I wanted to deliver a song that was unique to Hitori-chan, so I thought it would be great if I could take on the song of my great senior and deliver a new world of Hitori-chan to everyone,” he said, expressing his passion for the song.
At the event, new information was announced regarding the release and distribution of the mini-album which includes the opening theme “Doppelganger” and the ending theme “Re:Re:”, as well as the distribution of “Watashi Dake Yurei”, which appears in the film and is sung by “SICK HACK”, the band which Kikuri Hiroi belongs to. Mizuno spoke enthusiastically about his joy, saying, “When I saw it again at the theater, I felt more immersed in the atmosphere than when I saw it on TV, and it was super cool! I’ve grown to like Kikuri more and more, and to be able to listen to it on my smartphone… I’ve been waiting for this moment for so long…!”
イベントの終盤では、公開を祝してサプライズコメントが到着！歌い手の「Ado」さんから寄せられたものだと伝えられた4人は「ええええ！！！」と声を揃えて驚き、会場からも大きな拍手が湧き起こりました。青山は「本当にたくさんの人に届いているんだと改めて感じています。皆さんの応援のおかげです。」と改めてファンへの感謝を伝えました。
最後に、長谷川は「ついに後編が公開されて、TVシリーズの最終回を迎えた時と似たようなちょっとした寂しさを感じています。これから舞台挨拶やライブのツアーもたくさん残っているので、ここで終わりじゃなくて、ここからさらに結束バンド、そして「ぼっち・ざ・ろっく！」の魅力を多くの人に届けられるように駆け抜けていきたいと思います。」と今後の活躍への意気込みを語りました。
水野は「前編もあっという間で、もう後編の舞台挨拶が始まっているんですが、この流れに置いていかれないように「ぼっち・ざ・ろっく！」への愛をしっかりと伝えていきたいと思いますので、後編もたくさん観て愛して頂けたら嬉しいです！」とコメント。
鈴代も「時間があっという間に過ぎてしまうので、当時のアフレコの記憶やみんなで観た最終回の日を一つ一つ思い出しながら噛み締めていました。改めて一人一人がすごく成長した12話だと思いましたし、みんなのこれからも見ていきたいです。もっと「ぼっち・ざ・ろっく！」の輪を広げていきたいので、多くの人にこの作品を広めてもらえたら嬉しいです。
と語りました。
そして、青山は「”後藤ひとり役の青山吉能です”とアニメの放送が終わってからもずっと言い続けられるのはなかなかないことだと思います。改めて「ぼっち・ざ・ろっく！」という作品に出会えてよかったと思いましたし、劇場総集編を通してなんで声優になったのか、初心を思い出すことができました。私の人生をかけて挑んだ作品なので、皆さんの愛と私たちの愛でまたこの素晴らしい景色を見るためにも作品を盛り上げていきたいと思います。」と、改めて作品とファンへの感謝を述べました。
そして最後は、会場の観客、そしてキャストの一同で「Thank you!」と結束バンド恒例の掛け声をし、大盛況の中イベントは幕を閉じました。
