“Hana Doll*” is a story about the growth of boys who dedicate their lives to a project known as the “Hana Doll Project,” in which special flower seeds are implanted inside their bodies to artificially create “perfect idols.”
Currently, the CD series containing drama parts and music has been released up to the third season, and new information was announced at this event.
We bring you a report on the afternoon performance of the 5th anniversary event, which featured a star-studded cast of Anthos*, the seven-member boy group active in Hana Doll*.
Five years have already passed since the “Hana Doll*” project began on March 7, 2019. In contrast to the main story, which has a darker storyline, the event venue was filled with excitement and enthusiasm.
As Antholic (the name for Anthos*’s fans) eagerly waited for the show to begin, the stage went dark and an opening video featuring the members of Anthos* was played, and the seven cast members appeared on stage to cheers from the audience.
The curtain will rise with “Liberation” performed by Hamano Daiki (role of Kagekawa Ryōga), Horie Shun (role of Yashiro Setsuna), Ito Kento (role of Todō Masato), Komada Wataru (role of Chise), Toki Shunichi (role of Kisaragi Kaoru), Yamashita Seiichiro (role of Yuki Mahiro), and Masuda Toshiki (role of Kiyose Yota).
The cast members were dressed in new costumes based on black and silver. The dark elements of the music instantly drew the audience into the timely world of “Hana Doll*”.
The next song, “RNPN,” was a lively one, with Masuda’s voice leading into Yamashita and Hamano’s rap. The high long tones of Ito and Komada, along with the soft and clear voices of Horie and Toki, drew Antholic in with their enchanting singing and performance.
After performing two unit songs in a row, each cast member greeted Antholic one by one. In a relaxed atmosphere different from the previous performance, Anthos*’s charm is the conversation that shows their close friendship.
This was the fourth stage event, but there were many people at the venue who were participating for the first time, and the cast members were smiling with joy. When they noticed the “difference” in the new costumes that each of them was wearing, they looked frightened, thinking that everything seemed like a hint, and the audience burst into laughter.
In addition, since the stage event was broadcast worldwide, Hamano once again delivered a “comment to fans around the world,” which has become a tradition at the event. When Hamano delivered his loving message to the world in fluent English, loud cheers erupted from the audience.
And from here, the reading part started. The Anthos* members were collected by staff the day before the stage event. To test the bonds of Anthos*, two teams started from different locations and tried to play a game where if they could meet within the time limit, they would be successful.
Splitting into two teams, Ryōga, Setsuna, Masato and Youta, and Chise, Kaoru and Mahiro, they send each other hints while heading for the same destination. The audience listened intently to the exchanges that revealed each team’s individuality and relationships, often erupting in laughter.
The two teams were able to meet safely at what could have been the perfect place for them to meet. The audience erupted in applause at the reading, which clearly demonstrated the bond between the members of Anthos*.
