This announcement was made to coincide with International Lion Day, which falls on Saturday, August 10th, in honor of the film’s lead character, Lion-kun.

The film is directed by Takekiyo Jin, who worked on the feature-length animated film “After School Midnighters,” and the screenplay is by Ikeda Tetsuro, who has appeared in a number of popular films as an actor, including “Kichijoji Losers,” “Patalliro! The Movie,” and “Go! Boys’ High School Drama Club.” The animation will be produced by Marza Animation Planet, which continues to create world-class visual worlds with overwhelming expressiveness, including “Lupin the Third: The First,” “Sonic the Hedgehog,” and “Captain Harlock,” weaving a story that can be enjoyed by all generations who have ever eaten Tabekko Animal Sweets.

It’s been 46 years since its release. Sudo Kotaro (TBS Television), who planned and produced the film adaptation of this popular snack, spoke passionately about his desire to bring this national snack to the screen: “In today’s world, where communication on social media has increased and real-life communication has become rare. The “super teaser visual” shows Lion-kun, who is an enduring favorite among the Tabekko Animals, posing adorable from behind as he hugs a small child with his fluffy body.

How will the popular Tabekko Animal characters move on the screen, what kind of voices will they use, and what kind of story will they tell? As the copy “Finally, we can meet” suggests, the long-awaited movie adaptation by Tabekko Animal fans has been realized! In addition, it has been decided that a limited number of mini cards featuring this visual will be distributed at “Tabekko Animal LAND” being held in Yokohama from August 10th (until September 29th).

Titled “Special video with freshly baked movie logo,” the video expresses the decision to make a movie by featuring biscuits with the movie logo baked just like the Tabekko Animals.
