A collaboration between this work and the British-style pub “HUB” has been decided! Collaboration drinks based on the alcoholic beverages drunk by the sword warriors in the work, collaboration food, and original goods using newly drawn illustrations will be on sale from Friday, August 16th to Sunday, September 1st.

A collaboration introduction video featuring new voice acting by Shokudaikiri Mitsutada (CV: Sato Takuya) has been released.
In the video, Shokudaikiri Mitsutada appears dressed as a bartender and introduces BAR Mitsutada, which was set up in the Honmaru, and information about the collaboration.
— Regarding “Touken Ranbu Kai -Ten Den: Close Samurai” (hereinafter “Ten Den”), what was your impression of the story after reading the script?
“I thought it focused more on the mission of the sword boys and the meaning of their existence in the first place. Rather than depicting their daily lives in the Honmaru, I thought it depicted their true nature as sword spirits, so I read the script with a fresh feeling.”
–What kind of character is Shokudaikiri Mitsutada, the character you play?
“The sword was originally owned by Date Masamune, and the eyepatch is its symbol. Date Masamune, the sword’s master, was a flashy man who loved everything, and while he attracted attention, he was secretly plotting to rule the world. I think that this sword is a living embodiment of his master’s passion for what it considered “cool” – a sense of aesthetics that went beyond flashiness in appearance.”
–Among the six swords that were deployed this time were the Date swords, Okurikara and Tsurumaru Kuninaga, in addition to Shokudaikiri.
“All the Touken Danshi are quirky in their own way, but Okurikara doesn’t say much, but he is a sword that is aware of the tasks that have been assigned to him and acts in his own way. However, he dislikes getting too close, so I felt that Mitsutada was the only one in the unit who could respect his feelings and move forward without isolating him from the rest of the unit. I think he understands him very well (laughs). As for Tsurumaru, he likes to surprise people, and I feel that he is heading in the same direction as Shokudaikiri, just with a different way of expressing it. Shokudaikiri calls Tsurumaru “Tsuru-san,” and Tsurumaru more than makes up for the parts that Shokudaikiri can’t do, so I thought that this was the trust that was implied in the title.”
-So, what was the team spirit like among the six swords that took part this time?
「山姥切国広とへし切長谷部のすれ違いが軸にあって良かったなと思っているんです。それが6振りが団結していく要素にもなっていたと思うので。今回に関して言えば、それぞれがわかりあって先に進むために、必要なエピソードだったと解釈しています。山姥切は、自分が「写し」であることにコンプレックスを持っていて、それが彼のアイデンティティを揺るがすほどの要素なんだと思うんですけど、逆に彼が「写し」だからこそ、という要素もあると思うんです。つまり、自分の意識と他者から見たときの印象の違いということなんですけど、それは『々伝』を観た方も共感するところなのかなと思っています。あと、同田貫くんは、この6振りにおいて、部隊が団結するためにいてくれて良かった存在です。すごくフラットだから。任務を達成するために適任の刀剣男士だったと思います。」
ーー『々伝』で、印象的なシーンがありましたら教えてください。
「わかりやすいことでは、それぞれの刀剣男士の戦いのときのセリフです。今まで『刀剣乱舞』を応援し続けてくれた皆様には馴染み深いものが聞けると思います。それと物語のとあるシーンで、光忠が鶴丸としゃべっているときに、「守らなきゃだね」って言うんですけど、そこは光忠自身が、なぜ今ここに自分がいるのか、自分が人間に対して何ができるのかというのを改めて考えて、心を決めたシーンだったと思うので、個人的には染み入ったシーンでした。」
ーー最後に、公開を楽しみにしているファンに向けて、メッセージをお願いします。
「TVシリーズから間髪を入れず劇場上映ということで、我々も喜びと驚きを感じた収録でした。今回の『々伝』に関しては、いろいろな面を見せてくれた刀剣男士たちの、より深い心の部分をえぐった作品になっていると思います。それをご覧いただいたあとに、またアニメ『虚伝』を観ていただけると、行ったり来たりしたくなると思うんです。そうやって考察・興味が広げられてしまうのが、この作品の面白さだと思うので、ぜひ端から端までお楽しみください。」
