Tetsuya Kakihara, Satomi Sato, Hiro Mashima (original author) and Atsuo Ueda (illustrator) appeared at the event. They talked about their thoughts on the long-awaited anime adaptation and got the crowd excited!
Additionally, information about the Blu-ray product and the release dates for the opening song “Story” and the ending song “Friend, Here We Say Goodbye” have also been released.
The lineup at the packed venue included Tetsuya Kakihara (voice of Natsu Dragneel), Sato Satomi (voice of Wendy Marvell), as well as Hiro Mashima (original author) and Atsuo Ueda (original author).
Mashima, the original author, praised Ueda’s drawing skills, saying, “I was looking for someone who could draw, and this amazing person came. Now it’s like, who is the real deal!?” Ueda revealed the unexpected behind-the-scenes story, saying, “At first, it was just a spin-off, but when I greeted Mashima-sensei, I showed him a drawing I made that looked like the illustration, and he said, ‘Do a sequel!’ And that’s how it was decided.” Mashima also surprised the audience by saying, “The drawing at the time was good, so I said, ‘Let’s do a sequel! I’ll participate in the storyboard too.’ And that’s how ‘FAIRY TAIL 100 Year Quest’ began.”
Meanwhile, looking back on the dubbing session, Sato said, “It’s been a while, but Kakki’s Natsu’s words really pulled me into the world of ‘FAIRY TAIL’, and I became Wendy. Thanks to all the cast members, I was able to stand up as Wendy.” Kakihara reaffirmed his bond with the cast, saying, “I feel exactly the same way. After more than 10 years of working on it, whenever I meet the members of ‘FAIRY TAIL’, I remember that it’s a work that we created together. What makes me happiest is that as we’ve gotten older with the times, not a single member of ‘FAIRY TAIL’ has been missing, and each one has improved their skills and met in the studio. They’re truly reassuring guild members. Now in my 40s, I feel that this is a work that was created by a group of first-class voice actors.”
Ueda, who observed the dubbing recording, said, “I was amazed by the voice actors’ live acting and the volume of their voices, but what surprised me even more was Kakihara-san. The dubbing set was tense and tense, but Kakihara-san would say things like ‘NO WAY’ (another character’s line) that weren’t in the script…But it was because of that that the atmosphere on set was relaxed. I thought that he was the only person who could voice Natsu.” Mashima agreed, saying, “That’s right! When I draw Natsu’s face, it ends up looking like Kakki’s. That’s because Natsu is just like that.”
Additionally, Hirano Aya, who voices Lucy Heartfilia, Kugimiya Rie, who voices Happy, Nakamura Yuichi, who voices Gray Fullbuster, Ohara Sayaka, who voices Erza Scarlet, and Horie Yui, who voices Charles, sent in their own questions and comments for the guests on stage that day.
“Question for Mashima-sensei! When did you start thinking about the setting for END? Did you have a plan for Erza’s birth from the beginning?” (Hirano). “I hear there are a ton of added settings, like Erza only being able to cry from one eye, but are there any memorable additions to Natsu or Wendy? Also, I like how Hiro-kun’s spacing is so loose♪” (Ohara).
これに真島は「ENDはナツ・ドラグニルの名前が「N・D」だから途中から思いついた」などそれぞれの質問について答え、この作品（FAIRY TAIL 100年クエスト）においてはすべて後付けです！そもそも完結した話から続編にしたわけですからね」と重ねた。
「スタジオでフェアリーテイルのスタッフさん、キャストさん、みんなに会えるととってもハッピーです！これからもよろしくお願いします！」（釘宮）。これに佐藤は「釘宮さんのハッピーはとても可愛くて、アフレコ中もみんなで可愛いね～と言っていました」とお気に入り。
「真島先生に質問です。今作は作画を上田先生が担当していますが、思わず唸った絵の表現などはありましたか？」（中村）。これに真島は「海底でエルザがナツに手を置くシーン。ネームのメモに「腋（わき）」と書いた。そうしたら（漫画で）めちゃくちゃ良い腋を描いてくれた。腋に注目してください」と明かすと、上田は「フェチが出てしまいましたね…」と照れていた。
「佐藤聡美ちゃん！前にお土産でシャルルのお人形をくれた事があって、いつかそのお礼をしたいなぁと思っていました！今更ですが、好きなお菓子とかありますか？」（堀江）。
これに佐藤がどんなお菓子にしようか迷うと、柿原は「ポッキー！」とアドバイス。真島と上田も「ポッキー！」とおススメして、最終的にMCから再度質問された佐藤も「ポッキー！」と即答。会場をほっこりさせていた。
トークのラストで、放送スタートに向けてのコメントとして佐藤は今回上映された２話までの内容に触れ、「ウェンディが〇〇〇になりましたが、果たして元に戻るのか？明日から第1話が始まるので最後まで見届けてほしいです」と促した。柿原は「『FAIRY TAIL』は自分にとって青春。20代を一緒に駆け抜けたキャラクターです。『FAIRY TAIL 100年クエスト』では新しいライバルが出てきますが、本気でかかって来るのでこちらも本気で倒しにいきます。僕らが切磋琢磨している姿を見てください」とアピール。上田は原作漫画について「腋だけではなく、あんなシーンやこんなシーンが出てくるので楽しみにしていてください。きっと皆さんが納得する作品になっています」と手応えを語り、真島も「ここから先も楽しい話がありますので、皆さんには楽しみにしていてほしいです。」と呼び掛けた。
