“Wistoria of the Staff and Sword” is a high fantasy action story with staffs and swords, brought to you by Fujino Omori, the creator of the hit light novel series “Is It Wrong to Try to Pick Up Girls in a Dungeon?”, which has sold over 17 million copies in total.
Will, a young boy who enrolled in a magic academy with the goal of becoming a full-fledged wizard, had a fatal weakness as a wizard: “he couldn’t use magic at all.” Will was met with cold stares from his classmates and teachers, and sometimes felt like giving up, but he pushed forward with a strong will. Even though he couldn’t use a wand, he picked up a sword and fought his way through a world where magic is supreme.
Episode 1: “Like a Sword”
Will Selford, a sixth-year student at the Rigand Magic Academy, is a “learner” who is only good at writing. He can’t even use basic magic and is looked down upon by everyone at the academy as a dropout.
In order to keep a promise he made to his childhood friend Elfaria, he aims to become the strongest magician, “Magia Wende,” but the road to success is endless.
One day, while Will was defeating monsters in the dungeon as usual to earn credits, he witnessed his classmate Sion, who looks down on him, and his friends being attacked by a strong enemy that shouldn’t be on the lower floors…
The first episode of the TV anime “Wisteria of the Staff and Sword,” “Like a Sword,” will be broadcast on TBS affiliates nationwide (28 stations) every Sunday from 4:30 p.m. starting July 7th (Sun).
