“Overlord: Holy Kingdom Arc” is the first completely new movie in the Overlord anime series, based on the hugely popular novel by Maruyama Kugane, which has sold over 14 million copies in total.
A variety of new information was revealed at the latest information presentation for this film held on July 7, 2024.
First, the official trailer was released, revealing that the film will be released in theaters on September 20, 2024, and that it will be shown in IMAX starting September 13, one week prior to the release date.
An exclusive visual based on the cover art by so-bin, who is in charge of the original illustrations, was also announced.
The theme song for this work is “WHEELER-DEALER” sung by OxT, who has been in charge of the themes for the past TV series, and this was the first time the song was revealed in the trailer.
In addition, the key visual for this work and new individual visuals of the three characters Ainz, Jaldabaoth, and Shizu Delta were also revealed for the first time.
The key visual depicts the main characters of the Holy Kingdom arc in a composition that makes it seem as if they are being held in the hands of the protagonist Ainz, and combined with the latest catchphrase, “The advent of the most evil justice,” it is a picture that hints at the direction the story of this work is heading.
It has also been decided that the first large-scale exhibition will be held. It will take place from September 14th to September 29th, 2024 at Space 634 on the 5th floor of Tokyo Solamachi®.
There will be newly recorded voices for the characters, production materials on display, and photo spots that recreate memorable scenes from the series. The shop in the venue will also be selling original goods featuring newly drawn illustrations. Along with the movie version, you can also experience the world of “Overlord” at the exhibition event.
“Overlord: Holy Kingdom Arc” will be released on September 20, 2024. The second wave of advance tickets for the theater and Mubichike (online) will go on sale from July 12.
