Since his middle school days, Kobato Tsunegoro has been devoting himself to solving mysteries, calling it “wisdom work,” and has formed a mutually beneficial relationship with his middle school classmate, Oyamauchi Yuki, in an attempt to live a normal, ordinary life in high school. However, mysteries surround Tsunegoro, and through his involvement with his other best friend, Dojima Kengo, he naturally ends up solving mysteries in this school mystery story.
To commemorate the broadcast of the anime “Little Man Series,” an advance screening was held, and a mini talk show was also held by Umeda Shuuichirou, who plays Kobato Togorou, and Hitsujimiya Hina, who plays Koyamauchi Yuki. This article will cover the second part of the talk show at the advance screening.
After the host, Amatsu Iitaro, entered the room, Umeda Shuuichirou, who plays Kobato Tsunegoro, and Hitsujimiya Hina, who plays Oyamauchi Yuki, were called on stage. When asked how he felt now that the first episode had just been screened, Umeda said, “I’m excited and envious at the thought that you will all be able to watch the memorable first episode of the ‘Little Man Series’ on this big screen. No matter how much I explain the appeal of the anime here, I believe that there will be even more footage waiting for you, so I hope that you will get through this stage greeting…” Just as he was about to say this, Hitsujimiya and Amatsu exchanged glances, and Amatsu retorted, “Get through it?! We are not a barrier.”
Umeda laughed and tried to get back on track, saying, “Please enjoy the first episode after listening to this stage greeting.” Hitsujimiya said, “(This anime) is already a movie! It’s so beautiful, I think you’ll be able to watch it easily. The only thing that bothers me is that even though it’s so amazing that you want to scream out loud, there are many times when you have to hold back so as not to bother other people, but I would like you to spread the word about your impressions after watching it without giving away any spoilers.”
When Tenjin asked Umeda to introduce the “Little Citizen Series,” Umeda initially tried to read the synopsis that was on the screen, but then asked, “Can I introduce it in my own words?” He gave a clear explanation: “The story is about Tsunegoro, who used to be good at solving mysteries, which he called “wisdom work,” but then he gave up solving mysteries due to a certain incident. Later, in junior high school, he formed a “mutually beneficial relationship” with his classmate Yuki, and they vowed to live as “little citizens.” He started high school as a “little citizen” and intended to live a peaceful life, but Tsunegoro finds mysteries in the smallest things in everyday life. He tries to endure it somehow, but… that’s the story.”
Immediately after that, Amatsu said, “Next, let’s have the characters introduced. But it’s not interesting to have them just introduce themselves normally…” and the words “Guess the Petty Bourgeois Conversation” appeared on the screen. Umeda and Hitsujimiya said in unison, “Petty Bourgeois Conversation?” Putting aside the fact that the timing was just perfect (laughs), the game involves introducing the character you play and giving two missions, and having the other person guess what the missions were.
While Hitsujimiya had his eyes closed, Umeda was given the mission, and before it started, Tsunegoro’s catchphrase was, “I think it will be solved by the atmosphere in the venue.” Then, the character introduction about Tsunegoro began, and Umeda suddenly started talking about his profile, saying, “Hello everyone, my name is Umeda Shuuichirou. I’m here from Ken Production. I was born on October 11th, and my blood type is AB.” He folded his arms, put a serious expression on his face, and laughed, which was obviously suspicious. The audience burst into laughter at his funny gestures. Hitsujimiya also looked at him suspiciously, putting his hand to his chin in thought, but it seemed like it was hard to contain his laughter at Umeda’s strange gestures.
羊宮さんの推理は「回りくどく、なかなか紹介をしない梅田修一郎さん」と「自分のことを世界一カッコいいと思っている」で会場は爆笑と拍手喝采でしたが、がっかりして両ひざに手を置く梅田さん。正解は「自分のプロフィールを混ぜる」と「決めポーズをとる」でした。
梅田さんのミッションを遂行する様子を見て「こういうふうにミッションが課せられているんだなとわかりました」と自信満々の羊宮さんでしたが、ミッションを見た瞬間、「ん!?」。会場からは拍手、羊宮さんは苦い表情に。それでも「ゆきちゃんって、かわいいじゃないですか？ はあ……本当にかわいい！ はあ」と説明し始めると、梅田さんも「わかるよ！」とうなずきます。
「小動物のようになっているんでちゅかね。はあ、かわいいなあ。かわいいでちゅ」とやり切った羊宮さん。そして梅田さんへ「私の想いをぜひ汲み取ってください」とお願い。梅田さんの推理は「小山内さんがかわいすぎて、赤ちゃんになっちゃうわよ～ん！」。
その様子を見ていた羊宮さんは「梅田さん、思い出してください。箇条書きでしたよ」とアドバイス。それを受けた梅田さんの答えは「小山内さんの限界ファン。2つめは赤ちゃん言葉を混ぜる」と推理。正解は「語尾にでちゅを付ける」と「途中で大きなため息をつく」でした。
それを聞いた梅田さんは「なるほど。でも大きなため息をつくのは限界ファンの証拠です」と食い下がるも、羊宮さんから「梅田さん、見てください！ 今日こんなにきれいな衣装を用意していただいて、こんなに素敵な舞台挨拶の中、こんなにたくさんため息をつき、でちゅも初めて言ったんです！」と魂の訴えが（笑）。梅田さんは申し訳なさそうな表情になって、「すみませんでした……」。
