This is a youthful love drama set in the film production club of a boys’ school. Ichikawa Yoshikazu, the director of the second-year high school students, is passionate about film and is rivalrous towards Kikuchihara Jin, the third-year high school director and club president.
In this article, we will introduce Yoshikazu’s profile, his charms, and his relationship with Jin. We will also look at an unexpected side of Yoshikazu that was not seen in the first film in the series, and his thoughts on the films that Jin makes.

He is a self-proclaimed movie buff who serves as the director, scriptwriter, and editor for the second-year students. Although he is a capable director, he has a somewhat troublesome personality when it comes to movies, and he is very competitive with the third-year students. He is currently hooked on BL manga, having read it and been fascinated by its preciousness. He has one younger sister who is a fujoshi.
Yoshikazu, who is the director of the second-year students in the film club, has a stronger passion and commitment to film than most people. He is self-confident, easily depressed, and strict with himself and others.
He works hard every day on making the film with his team members, including cinematographer Mao Tsuchiya, and since Mao and the others know Yoshikazu well, they seem to be used to his sudden negative outbursts.
The Ichikawa team decides to shoot a BL-themed film called “You and the Seasons, etc…” for the school festival competition. Yoshikazu is in charge of the script, and asks Mao’s roommate, Otomo Hisashi, to star. While filming, Yoshikazu is burning with an extraordinary rivalry with the third-year students in the film club.
Although Yoshikazu has many comical scenes, his films have a delicate style. It is very cool to see him taking his film seriously and taking it seriously.
Yoshikazu’s thoughts on film and his passion to make something good are also expressed in his words to the members of the club who will be making the film with him, and it’s also worth paying attention to what Yoshikazu said about making a love film. He says that although they don’t know love yet, this is something “for the future.”
“When we grow up and get married, maybe same-sex marriage will become the norm in the world. We may find someone special, or we may not. 義一と真央の出会いは中学放送部の大会のとき。真央のカメラのセンスに光るものを感じて、映画を一緒に撮らないかと誘ったのが始まり。真央と義一の出会いのエピソードは、コミック『黄昏アウトフォーカス long take 1』で描かれています。
ライバル関係のような3年の菊地原組と2年の市川組ですが、実際のところ対立しているのは監督同士で、厳密に言うとやたらと突っかかっているのは義一の方です。
思ったことをハッキリとそのまま口にする性格の義一は、仁と真っ向から衝突することも。新学期早々に新入部員の勧誘動画をめぐって対立した仁と義一は、意図せず勢い余ってキスをしてしまうというハプニングがありました。
そんななか、義一は一緒に暮らしている祖父が秋まで入院することになったため短期で寮に入ることになり、なんと天敵とも言える仁とルームメイトになったのです。
寮の部屋でも対立するのかと思いきや、意外にも仁と義一の関係は平穏です。仁は親切に話しかけてくれて、驚くことに義一もまた素直に言葉を返すという良き関係に。
ふたりの距離をグッと縮めたのは、義一がハマっているというBL漫画。義一がBL漫画を読んでいると仁も読みたいと言い出したので、あれこれ吟味して最初の一冊を選定。BLの話に熱が入る義一に、仁はこうやって喋れて楽しいと話し、ほどなくして仁は義一への恋心を自覚することになります。
好きなことに夢中でお喋りが止まらなかったり、照れて顔を赤らめるなど意外な反応を見せる義一は可愛くてとても魅力的です。
嫌われてると思っていたと言う仁に対して義一は「嫌っていない」と返して意味が分からないといった反応をしている場面があります。それならば部活のときに鬼の形相で睨んだりしているのは何故なのかというと、「仁の映画がくそ」だからだそうです。
仁の脚本の初稿はとてもいいのに、2稿3稿と重ねるごとにダメになっていく。それは部員のあれもしたいこれもしたいという要求を全部詰め込むから。
仁は周りを気にしてばかりで自分を出せていないけれど、ナイーブでロマンチックで優しい人。良い映画を撮れる人なのだと、義一は仁を評価して認めているのです。
一緒に生活しなかったら知らなかったこともあるし、義一の色んな顔を見ることができて嬉しい。仁は自身の恋心を義一に正直に伝え、その後も隙あらば口説いていくスタイルで、振り向いてもらえるよう直球でアピールをしています。
義一もまた戸惑いながらも答えを出そうとしているのですが、仁と映画の話もしたいのに仁が映画の話を避けようとするので納得がいかない様子。
ちなみにBL愛好家としては攻めでも受けでもなく壁になりたいといった発言もしている義一ですが、告白された義一が想像する仁とのカップリングも非常に興味深いものです。己の属性を「メガネ」関連で分析しているのも面白くて注目したいポイント。後に、仁に関しては「ヘタレ攻め」という解釈に至っています。
