巨人サイズの“太陽神”は、大きなツノを持つ動物の被り物をかぶり、黒いマントのようなものを羽織っています。手には長い杖のような棒状の武器（？）と丸い盾。素顔はわかりませんが、足元のモフっとしたズボンもしくはレッグカバー、ブーツから察するにマントの中はエルバフの衣装を着ているのではないでしょうか。また、“拙者”とワノ国の侍のような一人称を使用している点も気になるところです。
そんな“太陽神”の姿に、早速さまざまな考察が囁かれはじめています。
その中で共感を集めていた説の一つが“太陽神”の被り物のツノがチョッパーのホーンポイントに酷似していることから、この“太陽神”がチョッパーの悪魔の実「ヒトヒトの実」のモデルに関係しているのではないかというもの。ルフィの「ヒトヒトの実」も「太陽の神ニカ」と神をモデルにしたものなので、チョッパーの実も何かしらの神がモデルになっている可能性はじゅうぶんにあり得るのではないでしょうか。くしくもちょうどこのタイミングでチョッパー合流となったため、彼の悪魔の実について判明するフラグなのでは？と考える読者が多いようです。
また、“太陽神”の正体はロキ王子だとする説も浮上。ブロックの国を司る“太陽神”を演じながら、ブロック遊びを楽しんでいるという見解が一部読者の間で囁かれており、「自分が作った世界にNPCに見立てた人間を配置して鑑賞を楽しんでるのでは」「そんなに偉そうには見えないし、王ではなく王子が神のごっこ遊びを楽しんでるってところかな」といった声が。エルバフのモデルとなっている北欧に伝わる神話には、「ロキ」といういたずら好きの神が登場します。そのロキになぞらえて、“太陽神”もといロキ王子が人間を使ったいたずらを楽しんでいるのかもしれません。
さらに、エッグヘッド編の過去回想（『ONE PIECE』コミックス第108巻収録）で神の騎士団メンバーとして、フィガーランド・ガーリング聖の後方に一度だけ登場した人物の姿が“太陽神”と似通っており、何か関連があるのではないかと考える読者も少なくないよう。いったい“太陽神”とは何者なのか？そしてルフィたちとどのような関係を築いていくのか、今後の展開から目が離せません。
