In honor of Himejima Gyomei’s training depicted in episode 6 of “Pillar Training Arc,” Hiro Shimono, who plays Agatsuma Zenitsu, and Yoshitsugu Matsuoka, who plays Hashibira Inosuke, take on the challenge of waterfall training for the first time in their lives! A special video narrated by Tomokazu Sugita, who plays Himejima Gyomei, has been released!
The footage released is a special video of Shimono Hiro, who plays Agatsuma Zenitsu, and Matsuoka Yoshitsugu, who plays Hashibira Inosuke, attempting waterfall training.
Recently, during the “Demon Slayer TV – Pillar Training Arc Broadcast Special” broadcast on Abema, the two rolled the dice and received the command “Shimono and Matsuoka, perform waterfall training,” and this time they were finally able to put their waterfall training into practice!
The location was Minamiashigara City, Kanagawa Prefecture, famous for the legend of Kintaro of Mt. Ashigara. The rigorous training began with the arrival of Ashigara Sennin, an expert in waterfall training.
When you arrive at the training site, a huge waterfall with a drop of about 23 meters and a width of about 5 meters appears before you.
While being overwhelmed by the power of the powerful waterfall, they first carry out a purification ritual before the waterfall training. Following the hermit, who is full of things to comment on, Shimono and Matsuoka finally jump into the water with a “Heeey!”
The two of them head towards the pool at the bottom of the waterfall, enduring the water temperature that is much colder than they had imagined. Just like the Demon Slayers undergoing training from Himejima Gyomei, they make up their minds to complete their mission and go all the way to the bottom of the waterfall, patiently enduring the tremendous current of the water, and successfully complete their training!
Having overcome the rehearsals, Shimono was thrilled by his first waterfall training, exclaiming, “This is amazing!” Meanwhile, Matsuoka expressed how difficult it was, saying, “(Hanae) Natsuki and Kito are impossible,” but his expression was shining with a sense of accomplishment.
“Our bodies are hot,” the two said, feeling the results of their waterfall training. “Now we really understand how much incredible training the corps members have undergone!” they commented, thinking back to the rigorous training the Demon Slayer Corps members undergo!
The seventh episode, which follows Tanjiro and his friends as they take on Gyomei Himejima’s training, including waterfall training and rock pushing training, will be broadcast on Sunday, June 23rd at 23:15, with the broadcast time expanded to 40 minutes! Tanjiro, who is stuck on Himejima’s challenge, manages to move the rock by getting advice from Genya, whom he meets again by chance. Now that Tanjiro has gained a foothold, will he be able to overcome Himejima’s training?
