The concert will feature footage and music from famous scenes from the first and second seasons of the TV anime series, and will be performed by Heartbeat Symphony, who have previously performed at concerts for “Hyouka,” “Violet Evergarden,” and “Sound! Euphonium.”

In addition, Yusuke Kobayashi, who plays Natsuki Subaru, Rie Takahashi, who plays Emilia, and Inori Minase, who plays Rem, will be dubbing famous scenes live. In addition, with an orchestra playing in the background, Takahashi will be performing the 1st season ending song “Stay Alive,” and Minase will be performing the insert song from episode 18, “Wishing.”

Mayu Maejima (ex. MYTH & ROID) and Konomi Suzuki, who are in charge of the opening and ending songs that have colored “Re:ZERO”, sang the theme songs with passion. We will bring you a report on the film concert, which was a dense night!

“Re:ZERO − Starting Life in Another World” will return as a TV anime in October this year for the first time in about three and a half years. The film concert held just before the broadcast was a first for the work. Kenichiro Suehiro’s soundtrack, which is indispensable to the battles, serious scenes, and moving scenes in the work, has been highly praised, and it was a delightful event for fans of the work.

When the time came for the performance to begin, the musicians and concertmaster appeared on stage and began tuning the instruments, followed by conductor Yukichi Yoshida, and the concert began amidst loud applause. During the first song, “Love and Jet Black Rondo -Main Theme-,” scenes from the 1st and 2nd seasons were played on the monitor one after another, and the chorus, which sounded like an escalating storm, gradually grew stronger as the piano and strings played. I was drawn into the world of “Re:ZERO” from reality, and it linked with Subaru’s memories, giving the feeling that various encounters and battles in another world were about to begin again.

“March to Another World” plays out with a light melody along with the scene in the town where Subaru first meets Emilia. It expresses the exchange between Subaru and Emilia, who has just arrived in the other world, and Subaru’s excitement and nervousness as he begins his life in the other world.

In “Hero’s Takuto,” Elsa and Reinhard from “Gut Hunt” engage in combat amid music that heightens the tension of the battle. The images of the intense battle are breathtaking.

“Beginning Sound” is a soothing song with impressive strings that becomes rhythmic halfway through. Subaru is welcomed into the Roswaal Mansion, and the peaceful daily life of meeting Beatrice, Ram, Rem, and Roswaal flows along with the cheerful music. There is also a scene where Subaru teaches Emilia radio calisthenics and raises both hands to shout “Victory!”.

“Chains of Memories” sounds very sad and poignant when combined with the scene where Subaru is tortured by Rem, who sees him as a danger because he smells like a witch, and Subaru wails in despair. Then, when he returns to death, this time it’s the loop where Rem dies. I felt Subaru’s strong feelings in the scene where he jumps off a cliff of his own accord to reach the ending where Ram and Rem, whom he met at Roswaal Mansion, are greeted with smiles.

In “Omen of the Impulse,” drums and strings set the rhythm of the battle. This, combined with the scene where the demonized Rem uses a morning star to smash through the monsters, and the scene where Subaru strikes the rampaging Rem with a fatal blow, snapping her horn and bringing her back to her senses, draws you into a tense atmosphere.

“Time of Terror” is also an unsettling song. It shows Ram and Rem’s past, in which Ram’s horn is broken while trying to save Rem as the village is engulfed in flames after being attacked by the Witch Cult. The drum rhythm and chorus that resonate during the deadly battle between Ulgarm and Subaru that follows are also memorable, as they seem to be mixed with fear and terror.

At this point, Kobayashi Yusuke, who plays Natsuki Subaru, appeared on stage in a tailcoat, and Minase Inori, who plays Rem, appeared in a blue dress, and the live dubbing began. Subaru uses himself as a decoy, allowing Ram and Rem to escape, and then engages in battle with Ulgarm while activating Shamaku. Roswaal also arrives and defeats the monster. Afterwards, he wakes up in Roswaal’s mansion with Rem beside him – the live dubbing began with this scene.

One of the famous scenes where Subaru speaks kind words to Rem who blames herself was projected on the screen, and Kobayashi and Minase exchanged words with each other while piano music played in the background. Finally, the subtitle of episode 11, “Rem”, was announced. Even though it was a large venue, some people could hear sobbing.
