“Kinnikuman” is a fighting manga that began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in 1979 by Yudetamago, a company consisting of Shimada Takashi (original scenario writer) and Nakai Yoshinori (illustrator). It tells the story of Kinnikuman, a clumsy and foolish dropout superhuman from Planet Kinniku, who, through hard work, friendship, and victories, eventually grows into the strongest man in the world of superhuman fighting. It is
currently being serialized in Weekly Playboy and Weekly Playboy News, and the series has sold over 77 million copies in total. The latest volume, 84, is currently on sale.
The anime began airing in 1983, and the hugely popular “Kinkeshi” series has sold over 180 million units. A new anime series, “Kinnikuman: Perfect Origin Arc,” which depicts one of the most popular episodes from the original work, is scheduled to begin airing on July 7.
The main visual for the “Kinnikuman 45th Anniversary Love and Bonds Original Art Exhibition” commemorating the 45th anniversary of the original work has now been unveiled for the first time. The visual depicts a muscular Kinnikuman on a ring set up in a hall reminiscent of a professional wrestling venue. He is posing with both hands raised in the “45th anniversary pose” with four fingers on his right hand and five on his left hand, proudly announcing the “45th anniversary” on the ring.
Furthermore, lights arranged in the shape of 45 shine above his head, illuminating Kinnikuman’s heroic figure even more clearly. Looking around, instead of the spectators, the ring is surrounded by numerous original drawings of various fierce battles and famous scenes drawn over the past 45 years, watching over Kinnikuman’s heroic figure.
This Kinnikuman was drawn by Yudetamago specifically for the main visual. It is a special visual that can only be found in this exhibition of original drawings celebrating the 45th anniversary of the original work.
Tickets for this exhibition are currently on sale with a special bonus. The ticket comes with a “Kinnikuman 45th Anniversary Pose Ver. Special Figure,” a special figure made by figure manufacturer SpiceSeed of Kinnikuman in the same 45th anniversary pose as the main visual. This is a rare item that can only be obtained here, and is available in limited quantities on Ticket Pia, so fans should not miss out.
