I want to affirm Deku’s beliefs. The 6th season, where “differences in perspective” were the key, and now on to the 7th season – “My Hero Academia (7th season)” Interview with Daiki Yamashita, who plays Izuku MidoriyaThe seventh season of the anime “My Hero Academia” series will start broadcasting on May 4, 2024! After the 6th season, “All Out War”, the heroes were at a disadvantage, but the members of Class 1A of Yuei High School unite once again and stand against the powerful enemies (villains).

Ahead of the broadcast, Animate Times conducted an interview with the cast members! This time, we asked Daiki Yamashita, who plays Izuku Midoriya (Deku), to talk about Deku’s feelings in the 6th season and the highlights of the 7th season.

—The 6th season was filled with many dramatic episodes.

Daiki Yamashita, who plays Izuku Midoriya (hereinafter referred to as Yamashita): That’s right. The 6th season featured many stories that affected the entire society within My Hero Academia. Just when I thought I had left Yuei High School, an incident occurred that engulfed the world, and the whole story became a big deal. But at the end, the title was changed to My Hero Academia,'' and I thought it was very complete. Of course, the level of completion has been high up until now, but I felt that the 6th season was the ending that made me realize thatThis story is “My Hero Academia.”

–In the first half, the hero and enemy (villain) clashed with each other with all their might.

Yamashita: There were so many battles that it was worthy of the name “All Out War Edition”. I think the viewers felt that it was heavy because the painful depiction was depicted without hesitation. But in this battle, I felt that the big theme of what an enemy (villain) is and what a hero is is exposed. Personally, I felt that the enemy (villain) was not just evil, but something more.

–What do you feel is the difference between a hero and an enemy (villain)?

Yamashita: In the end, what I think is good may seem unpleasant to other people, so it’s just a difference in how we see things. And I thought that because similar things are happening in the world we live in, it’s a story that doesn’t feel like it’s someone else’s business.

–Certainly, I felt a kind of fear that is connected to the present day.

Yamashita: I felt a tense atmosphere, a sense of crisis, as if “this world might be tomorrow’s us.” It stung me very hard.
