We interviewed Chiho Ishida, Mai Nakamura, and Sayaka Takao, who had just finished their autograph session! They talked about their impressions of their first collaboration with Animate, which ended in great success, their favorite anime, and their first album “Natsukashii Ashita” which will be released on June 12th.
–Please tell us your impressions after the autograph session.
Chiho Ishida (hereinafter referred to as Ishida): Lately, I haven’t had many opportunities to talk face-to-face and up close with my fans, so it was fun to meet them for the first time in a while, and I’m sure everyone will be happy with this collaboration. I was also happy to see them wearing the tin badges that were sold to them.
Mai Nakamura (hereinafter, Nakamura): It’s been a while since I last had a signing session, so I was happy to feel like, “It’s been a while since I’ve felt this way.” I was also happy that there were many people who came to meet me for the first time because of this collaboration project with Animate.
Sayaka Takao (hereinafter referred to as Takao): I haven’t had many opportunities to sign and hand over cards in person, so I thought it would be unique to Animate to be able to sign and hand over cards with my own illustrated characters. thought. I am very grateful for that because we were able to collaborate.
–You seemed to be having fun chatting with your fans while signing autographs.
Ishida: We talked a lot. Among the people who attended, there was a fan from Tokyo who said, “It’s been five years since I last came here!” There were also many people who are usually AKB48 fans, and many people who were attending for the first time, so I think it was easier for people from the Kanto region to come, but I feel like the circle of STU48 has expanded again, so I’m grateful.
–After the autograph session, the fans looked at the autographs happily and left with beaming faces.
Nakamura: I’m glad that you enjoyed it, and I hope that you will continue to cherish it.
–You collaborated with Animate at the “STU48 Support Fair”. How did you feel when the collaboration was decided?
Ishida: I was so happy! I originally went to an actors school and had the opportunity to perform on the Animate Hiroshima event floor a few times, so it was a place full of memories for me. I never thought I’d become an idol, officially collaborate with Animate, hold an event at the Ikebukuro main store, which I’d heard was huge, and even be interviewed there – it’s like a dream come true.
Nakamura: I used to go to Animate a lot when I was in Hiroshima, so I was happy that they collaborated with us this time, and when I found our goods among the many anime goods they had, I was so moved that I couldn’t help but scream “Wow!”
Takao: I’ve been going to Animate since I was a student, but back then I never imagined that I’d end up with merchandise or a collaboration. That’s why I was so happy and wanted to brag about it.
–Do you have any memorable stories from your time at Animate?
Ishida: When I was in elementary school, I had a favorite character in the anime “Uta no Prince-sama♪,” and I remember buying the file at Animate and taking it to school.
–By the way, who is your favorite?
Ishida: My name is Ai Mikaze. I’ve never told the fans about this, so this is the first time I’ve revealed it (lol).
Nakamura: I’m a Gacha Gacha fanatic, so I still go to Animate often. I get the impression that they have a huge variety of gacha gacha, and I go there right away whenever a new one comes out.
–What gachapon machines do you play often?
Nakamura: I do a lot of Sanrio stuff.
Ishida: I have that image.
Nakamura: I just keep trying until I find what I want.
–Thank you for your continued purchase (laughs).
Takao: I think Animate is a place where anime fans from all over the country gather at the same time. I’m sure I’ll be able to find my favorite character or anime goods when I go to Animate, and I’m grateful to be surrounded by so many anime goods and feel happy.
