The original character of the movie, Natsuki, played by Kana Hanazawa, is a genius game creator who created the hugely popular game “Doki Doki♡Tanu Kingdom,” which is also the setting of this movie. From the visual of her eyes covered with a mask, you can sense her mysterious aura, as if her true identity is shrouded in mystery.
The role of Mujina, the boss of the raccoon brothers Ponta and Pokota, played by the comedy duo JaruJaru, is played by Kenta Miyake, a talented voice actor. It was actually Mujina who was preventing Komugi and the others from returning to their original world after they entered the game world! The reason for this seems to be related to his past memories with Natsuki…
Since the character colors and ages of each PreCure series are different, I watched the TV series to do some preparation for playing Natsuki, and I got the impression that she was quite an older sister in “Wanpuri.”
When I came back to the set, I realized that Natsuki is the same age as everyone in Wanpuri, and yet she has the solid qualities of being a game creator who is able to interact on an equal footing with adults. So I talked with the director about making her a bit more mature than Komugi and Iroha, and that’s how I developed the character.
I really love how the story teaches us in a straightforward and brilliant way that animals can communicate with each other, understand what they are saying, and have bonds with each other, so I hope that people will be able to experience that on the big screen and feel happy.
Mujina, the voice of which I voiced this time, is a very large raccoon dog, so much so that people at the recording site instinctively called him “Mujina-sama.” The director told me, “Rather than being scary or intimidating, I want you to focus on the strong feelings that Mujina holds deep in his heart.” Based on those words, I played the role of Mujina with the image of a child who cannot accept something big and continues to struggle. Yes, Mujina also has a message. For the first time in the series, a dog and cat Pretty Cure appear, and a very new “wonderful” development will be delivered on the big screen.
