A visual announcing the final chapter has been released, featuring a large profile of Ram.
In addition, visuals of the new characters Lupa, Carla, and Upa who appear in the final episode, “Boy Meets Girl Edition” have been released. ■Comment from Yuichi Nakamura
──What does “Urusei Yatsura” mean to you, Nakamura?
I’m from the Ranma 1/2 generation when it comes to Takahashi-sensei’s works, but I’ve also been exposed to Maison Ikkoku and this work.
Every series has a unique feel and tension that remains the same, and I think that’s what makes it so appealing that people of all generations can get hooked and become completely absorbed in it. Among them, I felt that Urusei Yatsura was the origin, or rather, the base.
──Please tell us about the charm of Lupa, what was important to you, and what you enjoyed about playing the role.
One of its characteristics is that it has a dialect, so creating an interesting character while maintaining that phrasing was both difficult and fun.
It was really interesting to be able to play a character who goes wild in this work full of “Takahashi Bushi”. It was great to see so many different works! I was keenly aware of this.
Lupa’s childhood friend and a girl from the dark universe. She has loved Lupa since childhood. Because of her forceful approach, Lupa treats her like a shrew.
■Inori Minase comment
──What does “Urusei Yatsura” mean to you, Minase?
I remember that my mother’s younger brother loved Ram so much that there was a poster of him at home.
When I was a child at the time, I was a little embarrassed by the color of Ram’s skin, but every time I went home I would take a quick look at her.
──Please tell us about the charm of Carla, what was important to you in playing the role, and what you enjoyed about it.
Contrary to her cute appearance, she had a lively and bold dialect, which was very difficult.
At the same time, as the eye of the typhoon that engulfs the main character, I found her powerful and powerful ability to completely change the atmosphere of a scene to be both fun and rewarding.
