In episode 7, Takumi and Aoi Uemachi go to the “Konmushi Festival”. There are plenty of highlights, such as the two’s faint past memories, the live stage of “Terrun”, and Masakichi’s (CV. Shinichiro Miki) cute cosplay!
In the seventh installment of the series, we asked Yui Ogura, who voices Aoi Uemachi, to talk about the charm of the character and more!
–Please tell us your honest impressions when you saw the script, character settings, and stage settings for “Astronaut.”
Yui Ogura (hereinafter referred to as Ogura): I had the impression that the setting and script were very interesting…! It has a world view that can only be developed because it is an original anime, and each character is quite unique.
Even in the lines, there are some words and phrases that make you feel like they’re being aggressive, so I was really looking forward to being able to participate in such a work!
–Please tell us your impressions when you saw Aoi Uemachi’s character design.
Ogura: Aoi was surprised by the gap! There is a dramatic change in the middle of the story, so when I first saw the character design, I thought, “Huh? Is this the same character?!”
–Kamimachi Aoi was a girl who was behind the scenes, but what did you think was her charm? Please also tell us what she was conscious of when acting.
Ogura: Even though he is a latecomer, he is actually very single-minded and has a strong sense of attachment.
I’m the type of person whose feelings for others go a little too far. At first glance, I think she seems like a quiet type of girl, so I tried to make her performance as impressive as the other unique characters.
–Who is your favorite character other than the character you play? Please also tell me the reason.
Ogura: This is Naosuke. In the story, various things develop through Aoi’s indirect interactions with Naosuke, but the setting that she usually disguises herself as a dog and the interludes between Suwabe’s plays are very funny and cute. That’s what I thought as I watched it!
――The line “Would you like to eat insects with me?” at the beginning of episode 7 was a power word, but please let us know what you thought of the line.
小倉：どんな風にセリフを言うか、悩んだ場面でした！（笑） 葵は決して狙って言ったわけではないと思うのですが、聞いている人からすると「えっ!?」となるシーンなので、どうしたらより印象的になるかな？といろいろ考えて。
音響監督さんからのアドバイスもいただきながら、何パターンか収録した記憶がありますね。
――ラジオに投稿していた話などは健気でしたが、それでも拓己は葵のことを思い出さないどころか、せっかくのデートも、ミラさんに夢中でした。小倉さんは、ぶっちゃけ拓己をどう思いましたか？
小倉：う〜ん。確かに、アフレコ中も他のキャストさんたちと、拓己も拓己で実は結構な変わり者だよね、という話をよくしていましたね（笑）。
私も、台本を読みながら思わずツッコミたくなってしまうような場面はたくさんありました（笑）。
――ナオスケとの会話は印象的でしたが、諏訪部順一さんとの掛け合いはいかがでしたか？
小倉：すごく楽しかったです！ 収録のときは、音が被ってしまうので別の部屋で中継しながらの収録だったのですが、時折予想を超えてくる言い回しやナオスケのリアクションに、とても良い刺激をいただきました。
――それ以外に、ここまでで印象的だったシーン、好きなシーンなどありましたら教えてください。
小倉：宮坂くんが書いた書き置きをスーハーして嗅ぐシーンは特に印象的でした。葵は、他のキャラクターに比べると一番普通なタイプの子なのかな？と思っていたのですが、このシーンを見て、いやそんなことないな、と気付きました（笑）。
――では最後に、今後の見どころをお願いします。
小倉：後半は怒涛の展開になっているので、ぜひ毎話欠かさず観ていただきたいです…！ あすトろ荘における秘密や、それぞれのキャラクターの展開に注目してみてください！
