Bobobo, Beauty, and Chief Patch will appear in the commercial for this project to enliven “Spring Man!! 2024”. Animate Times visited the commercial recording site and interviewed Taketo Koyasu, who had just finished recording!
Immediately after performing Bo-bo-bo, and in a situation where she had burned a lot of calories, we spoke to Koyasu-san about her memories of the broadcast and the recording site.

–Thank you for your hard work in recording the commercial for “Spring Man!! 2024”. It’s been a while since you recorded “Bobobo”, right?
Takehito Koyasu (hereinafter referred to as Koyasu) who plays Bobobobo Bobobo: It’s been a while (lol). I think it’s the first time since the April Fool’s collaboration with Granblue Fantasy.
–That’s right, it’s been about two years.
Koyasu: It’s been so long! He was forced to sing the nostalgic “Kame Rap” (a popular song among fans called the legendary gag rap)…
–It’s the Reiwa re-recorded version of Kame Rap (lol).
Koyasu: It was hell at that time too (lol). As for “Bobobo,” there wasn’t a single easy recording!
–Is that also included in this recording?
Koyasu: Hasn’t it been over 20 years since it first aired (broadcast started in November 2003)? Back then, he was young and physically strong, so every time I play him, I realize that he was much more energetic than he is now, and mentally richer than he is now. To put it simply, I think I’ve aged quite a bit (lol).
–No, I heard it at your booth, and I would say that you don’t feel any decline at all.
Koyasu: Is that so? Personally, I think it has too much weight or foil on it. I had an image of Bobobo being a little lighter and no-nonsense, but as my career progressed, my voice quality also declined. I was mentally calm, so I felt like it came out too solid. I was thinking that I wanted to play it a little lighter as I played it.
- I see.
Koyasu: It’s very difficult to continue without changing forever, so I was thinking that it would be good if I could control that well while recording. So, I’m glad to hear that you don’t feel any discomfort or signs of decline.
–I was also watching it in real time, and I get the impression that the momentum hasn’t changed.
Koyasu: Originally, when it came to Bo-bobo, I didn’t feel like, “If I don’t do this, it won’t be Bo-bobo.” I didn’t act with a specific voice or character at all. I’ve always had the feeling that if I speak, people will laugh.
–If Koyasu-san were to play the role, it would be hilarious.
Koyasu: Maybe so. So, I wasn’t worried at first this time either, but when I actually started speaking, I thought, “I think he started sounding heavy…” and I was a little worried. Of course the recording itself was difficult, but it was fun.
–It seems difficult to bring out Bo-bobo’s tension and character within the limited length.
Koyasu: No, this commercial is especially fast! There was a lot of information, and I had to convey it accurately. Even in the main story, he didn’t speak that fast, and I thought that his smooth tongue was still fine (lol).
If this sounds off-putting, I won’t be able to stand it. Once again, I was encouraging myself and reminding myself that I was still okay and that I could go on.
ーー首領パッチ役の小野坂昌也さんとの掛け合いはいかがでしたか? 『グラブル』の際は、ゲームなのでおそらく個別収録ですよね。
子安:そうですね、別々に収録して、彼のセリフを聞きながらやっていました。なので、実際に横にいるのと対して変わらなかったですけど、今回はふたりで一緒。でも……隣に相棒の小野坂昌也がいると楽しいですね〜。
ーー本当に楽しそうに演じられていました。
子安:一気にあの当時の記憶を思い出して、「楽しい収録をしていたんだな〜」としみじみとしつつ。やっぱり、彼は首領パッチをやっている時が一番輝いていますね。
ーー(笑)。20年経った今でもそう思うのですね。
子安:改めて思いました。首領パッチをやるために生まれてきただけはあるな、と(笑)。彼は“首領パッチ声優”だからね。
ーー確かに、小野坂さん以外の声は考えられないです!
子安:そうなんです、首領パッチ以外はイマイチなんですよ。
ーーえぇ!? そうなんですか!?
子安:そうそう! って冗談ですからね? ちゃんと冗談って書いてくださいよ?(笑)
ーーもちろんです(笑)。
子安:でも、それぐらい首領パッチをやっている小野坂昌也は光り輝いています。最高に面白いですね。
ーー過去のインタビュー等でも、「首領パッチとのやり取りが一番好き」って仰ってましたよね。
子安:首領パッチが居なければ、『ボーボボ』は成り立たないですし、小野坂昌也じゃない首領パッチなんてありえない。小野坂さんがいなかったら、『ボーボボ』という作品が成立しなくなっちゃうんじゃないかな。それぐらいの存在です。
ーーまさに相棒。
子安:相棒なんてもんじゃないかもしれないですね! 最高です。
ーー今日の収録時には、合間におふたりで楽しげにお話をされていましたが、当時からそうでしたか?
子安:なんら変わらないですよ。冗談を言いながら、ふざけ合いながら。なのに収録が始まるとビシッビシッと声を当てていく。あの感覚は全然変わっていないです。始まる前に椅子に座って喋って、マイクの前に立ってまた喋って。でもフィルムが回るとバシッと声を当てる。当時と変わってないです。多分、お互いの人間性じゃないかな。
ーー仕事と向き合う姿勢が似ていらっしゃると。
子安:いや、ヘラヘラしているところかな(笑)。だから、変わりようがないことです。他の人が真面目にやっていても、我々はずっとヘラヘラして(笑)。
ーーでも、それが役にも、おふたりのやり取りにも滲んでいて、面白くなっているんじゃないでしょうか。
子安:どうなんでしょうか(笑)。もちろん、マイクがオンになれば真面目にやっていますし、良いものを作るぞ、という気持ちでやっています。でも、あまり硬くなりすぎると、セリフがつまんなくなっちゃう。頭を柔らかくして、その中から自然に出てくるような言葉じゃなければいけない。用意されていない言葉で話すのがボーボボと首領パッチの掛け合いですよね。そういうのを目指していました。
ーー今回のCMを聞いていても、「当時のやり取りが始まった!」という感覚がありました。
子安:それは嬉しいですね。それは、首領パッチのおかげですよ。『ボーボボ』が戻ってきた、『ボーボボ』のままだねって思ってもらえたら嬉しいです。
