Additionally, character visuals that tell the story of the lives of Oscar, Antoinette, Andre, and Fersen have been released.
All six types of Movie Ticket Cards will be on sale sequentially from Friday, October 11, 2024.
Each character visual is accompanied by a catchphrase that expresses the way each character lives in the turbulent times following the French Revolution, making the visuals reminiscent of each character’s story of love and destiny.
The heir to the Shogunate, a beautiful woman dressed as a man and raised as a “son,” Oscar François de Jarjayes, is shown brandishing a sword with the tagline “Forward, follow your passion,” and with the Bastille prison and burning flames at her back, she overcomes her status and gender, chooses her own life, and plunges into the French Revolution.
Marie Antoinette, the noble and graceful queen who came to France from neighboring Austria, is depicted with the tagline, “Love is both cruel and beautiful,” and her glamorous life at the French court and her natural charm are expressed. Although she was the wife of Louis XVI, she secretly harbors a love for Fersen, whom she met by fate, and stands there in a beautiful yet somewhat fragile appearance.
Andre Grandier, a commoner who is Oscar’s servant and childhood friend, is portrayed with the tagline, “I will protect you until the end of my life.” He supports Oscar, who at a young age serves as the commander of the French Guard and serves as Marie Antoinette’s bodyguard, and is always by her side as a good understanding person, living his life as he gazes into the distance.
The handsome and intelligent Swedish Count Hans Axel von Fersen has a fateful encounter with Antoinette, who is feeling increasingly lonely in a foreign court, at a masked ball at the Paris Opera, with the tagline, “Even if it is an unforgivable love.” Even though he is tossed about by their love, he decides to dedicate his love and destiny to Antoinette, expressing his determination to live the life he has chosen.
Regarding these visuals, character designer Mariko Oka commented on her thoughts about each character visual, saying, “Each of the four has their own unique charm, so I arranged them side by side, keeping an eye on the balance so that everyone would look glamorous. Andre’s character tends to look simple because he has fewer decorations, but I portrayed his feelings for Oscar in his gaze and expression, quiet but with passion. Antoinette and Fersen wear exclusive costumes that don’t appear in the main story. “

Because there are few decorations, Andre’s drawing tends to be simple, but I drew his gaze and expression, quietly but passionately, expressing his feelings for Oscar.
Antoinette and Fersen wear costumes that are not in the main story.
I would like to draw Oscar and Andre dressed up someday.
