We will bring you the stage greeting where new information was also announced as a surprise!Frieren is a magician and a long-lived elf. After her journey with the hero Himmel and his companions who defeated the Demon King, and after Himmel’s death, she sets out on a “journey to get to know people” – it’s already been a year since the TV anime “Furiren’s Funeral” began airing.

A special screening was held on Saturday, September 28th to commemorate the first anniversary of the series’ broadcast. Episodes 1 to 4, which were first broadcast as a special on Friday Road Show, were shown on the cinema screen, and afterwards, Tanezaki Atsumi, Ichinose Kana, Kobayashi Chiaki, Okamoto Nobuhiko, Tochi Hiroki, and Ueda Youji appeared on stage to talk.

At the end, we bring you a glimpse of the spectacular stage greeting, where new information was also announced as a surprise!

After the screening of episodes 1 to 4 of the TV anime, the stage greetings began, moderated by Nippon Television announcer Ryo Ito. After the greetings of the six cast members who appeared on stage, the event moved on to the special project “Memories of the Hero and the New Party.”

In this corner, the most memorable lines of each character from the Hero Party and the new party, as chosen by fan vote, were announced. First up are the three characters from the Hero Party.

The lines chosen for Himmel were, “This is not a fairy tale. We really existed,” for Heiter, “That’s what brave Himmel would do,” and for Eisen, “Everyone who tries hard is a warrior.”

Next were the three new party members. Frieren’s lines were, “Aura, before you is a wizard who has lived for over a thousand years,” Fern’s were, “I am incredibly happy that you have tried to get to know me,” and Stark’s were, “I am still standing.”

The cast members talked about their memories and thoughts on the series based on these lines. Okamoto-san described Himmel as a “quote-maker” and said that he liked many of his lines, even the most casual ones. There was also a scene where Tanezaki-san spoke passionately about the appeal of Frieren. The results of this vote will be announced on Official X at a later date.

After sharing memories with fans, new information was revealed as a surprise! The entire audience was focused on the screen, where the words “To understand more about people’s hearts, shall we continue our journey now?” were displayed, along with Frieren’s voice reading them. After that, Frieren’s bag, Fern’s staff, and Stark’s axe were displayed, and the teaser visual was released along with the announcement that a second season will be made.

After the screening, Tanezaki once again announced the decision to make a second season, which was met with thunderous applause from the audience. It was also announced that Madhouse would continue to be in charge of production, as they had done for the first season.

When asked by announcer Ito how he felt, Tanezaki seemed unable to contain his joy. The other cast members also spoke of their joy at being able to play their characters again.

In addition, a joint comment from Yamada Kanehito and Abe Tsukasa was read out, and a congratulatory illustration was also released. It depicts the four heroes walking side by side. Furthermore, it was announced that an online virtual event will be held this winter. It means that the world of “Furieren” can be enjoyed online, so we look forward to further information on this as well.

The stage greeting was concluded by Tanezaki-san’s greeting. He read out a letter that he wrote after watching episodes 1 to 4 this morning. Tanezaki-san said that he was in tears from start to finish, watching the beautiful images, including Era Ryusei, and the feelings and growth of the characters.

Looking back at the TV anime “Furiren no Soumou” he said, “It was an incredibly fulfilling work.” He spoke to the fans about his enthusiasm for the second season of this work, and the stage greeting came to a close.
