“Given” has many fans as a supreme BL work, and in 2024, the final story of the main story will be released as a two-part movie, making it a year of endless topics. To commemorate the release of the final chapter, “Given: To the Sea,” we will introduce the profiles and personalities of the main characters, as well as notable scenes.

Gensumi, a foster child, was a cynical and emotionless child. After moving, he became childhood friends with Hiiragi, Mafuyu, and Yuki, and after entering high school, he formed a band with Hiiragi and the others. Before he started playing music, he was a member of the handball club. Although he
is quiet, his inner thoughts can be described as extreme. While he seems to have a weak personality and does whatever Hiiragi tells him to do, he is actually a bundle of ego and will do anything for Hiiragi. Whatever the reason, he is a man with a strong core.
Gensumi eats a lot, slurping noodles or munching on bread next to Hiiragi and Ritsuka while they are having serious conversations. Compared to Hiiragi, who is full of emotion and says what he thinks, Gensumi is the type who calmly observes things and speaks his mind. The difference in their personalities is interesting to watch!
When Given receives an offer to debut, Mafuyu consults Genjun. When asked when he thought about debuting, Genjun says that if Hiiragi does it, he will too, and that he is willing to give up his life for the things he “want.”
立夏に、なんで柊とバンドをやっているのかと聞かれ「愛しているから」と堂々と告げた玄純。漢らしいですよね。気持ちがふりきれ過ぎている感じもありますが、玄純の音楽と恋愛への献身はひとつの理想形で、立夏も羨ましいと思うほど。
玄純の激重な愛がsyhの音楽を支えているのは確か。普段感情を表さない玄純が、柊を欲し“雄み”を露わにしたシーンはドキッとしましたが、ピュアな姫にはあれくらい出さないと伝わらないかもしれませんね！
原作も完結し、映画の2部作「柊 mix」と「海へ」で、柊と玄純の関係も、彼らを取り巻く環境も、そしてこれからの未来も大きく変わりました。2人が由紀という存在を乗り越え、これからさらに“2人の音”を鳴らしていくのが楽しみです。
ギヴンとは全然違うsyhの音楽は、軽快で耳に残るカッコイイ楽曲！ ぜひみなさんも聴いてみてくださいね。
