I am truly happy to be involved in Professor Katsura’s work in this way again, and even more so, to have the opportunity to work with Director Sakamoto again in this unexpected way. I am thrilled by my own strangely destined life as an actor. I was moved by Director Sakamoto’s passionate direction on set, and was able to move forward while having deep discussions with Professor Katsura about the role. I am playing “Professor Kitakura” with all my strength as I am now, so please look forward to it!
I will be playing the role of Mr. Matsuoka, the teacher of the main character, Hirono. He is a strict teacher by nature. However, on the inside he has a warm heart as he watches over the growth of everyone, and he also has a surprisingly playful side as he is actually a bit weak for handsome boys! He is a very human teacher. I would like to watch over and add excitement to the page of youth of Hirono and his friends as they struggle but run straight ahead. Speaking of action, it’s Director Sakamoto. I am very happy to be working with him again! The cool action scenes are also a sight to behold!
I play the father of Hirono Kenta, played by Fujioka Makino. I played a gentle father. Although this is a special effects film, I think it is packed with love, friendship, family love… I haven’t seen any of the action scenes, so I’m looking forward to it airing. This is a work that contains the soul that Katsura-sensei has been nurturing for a long time. Please enjoy!
“What a dream!” I read the script with excitement, thinking about the story of a boy who admires heroes and becomes a real hero. A son who trains every day to become a hero, a sweet father, and a generous mother. I acted with the awareness that it was because of this family that the “power of belief” was nurtured. The filming site was peaceful and fun! And I want to be the “mother of all heroes”! Another one of my ambitious dreams has come true this time! Thank you very much!
I was surprised that Masakazu Katsura’s original work “Wingman” was made into a live-action film on its 40th anniversary, and I feel very honored to have been able to participate in such a memorable production. I play the role of a prime minister whose body is taken over, and I thought it would be very scary if that were to happen to the leader of a country. I approached filming with the meaning of making it into a live-action film in mind, so I hope you will all enjoy watching it.
The cast visuals released this time feature the expressions of the four characters who symbolize the drama “Wingman”: Kenta, Aoi, Miku, and Kitakura Sensei.
