The upcoming anime “I’ve Become a Teacher at a Yokai School!” continues to build excitement as new voice actors Gakuto Kajiwara and Ryohei Kimura have been revealed as additional cast members. The series is set to premiere on Tuesday, October 8, 2024, and fans are already buzzing with anticipation.
Episode 1 Synopsis and Scene Cuts Revealed
The plot follows Abe no Seimei, a timid teacher assigned to Hyakki Academy, a school filled with mysterious yokai (Japanese monsters). Despite being weak and easily overwhelmed, Seimei begins his journey as a teacher while interacting with his unique and sometimes scary students. In Episode 1, Seimei tries to take a class photo and must confront the elusive Zashiki-warashi, a yokai named Beniko. But will he succeed, or will the yokai prove too much for him?
Comments from Gakuto Kajiwara and Ryohei Kimura
In a recent interview, Gakuto Kajiwara, who plays Abe Umeaki, Seimei’s older brother, shared his excitement about the role:
Q.1: Your role in the anime?
“I play Abe Umeaki, Seimei’s twin brother. Umeaki is a total brocon and is always looking out for his younger sibling, but he’s terrified of yokai, which leads to some hilarious moments. He might be scared, but he’s a cool older brother when it comes to protecting Seimei!”
Q.2: A message for the fans?
“I’m Gakuto Kajiwara, and I play Abe Umeaki! I also have younger siblings in real life, so I can relate to my character’s love for his brother. Recording the series was so much fun because the cast was constantly making us laugh! I’m looking forward to watching the show with everyone!”
Q.3: Any fun memories from your school days?
“I was always trying to grab attention at school, and I would secretly practice impersonations of my teachers. I’d perform them in class sometimes—it usually went well, but even when it didn’t, I just kept trying (laughs)!”
Ryohei Kimura added his own insights:
Q.1: What can you tell us about your character?
“While I can’t reveal too much about my role just yet, my character has a charming smile but might be hiding something dark beneath the surface.”
Q.2: A message for the fans?
“Things are going to get chaotic at this fun and lively school. I’m excited to see how everyone reacts!”
Q.3: Who’s your favorite character in the series?
“Without a doubt, it’s Sano Nozomi!”
