My favorite is the good morning scene between Masachika and Yuki in episode 2. “I want to play that scene every morning. I really do.” – Interview with Maruoka Wakana, who plays Suou Yuki in “My Neighbor Alyah, Who Sometimes Whispers in Russian” [Series Part 3]The TV anime “Alya-san, my neighbor, sometimes whispers sweet nothings in Russian” will begin airing on Wednesday, July 3, 2024. Although Alya usually gives a cold look, she sometimes whispers sweet nothings in Russian. Meanwhile, Kuze Masachika, who has native-level Russian listening skills, pretends not to notice the meaning of the words being spoken to him. What will become of their love story?

To commemorate the broadcast, Animate Times is running a series of email interviews with the main cast!

The third guest is Wakana Maruoka, who plays Yuki Suo. She talks about the appeal of the series and her character, as well as some episodes from acting.

–How did you feel when you found out you would be appearing in “Rosider”? Also, what do you think is the appeal of this work?

Wakana Maruoka (voice of Yuki Suo) (hereafter, Maruoka): I remember being really happy when I heard that I’d been cast! But I was also pretty surprised (laughs). The story and characters are just so wonderful…

That’s right… One of the charms of Rosider is the cute heroines…!! There are so many wonderful girls that you just fall in love with the more you get to know them! For some reason, I had my head in my hands… (laughs)

–Please tell us about the appeal of the character Suou Yuki, played by Maruoka-san, and the points you keep in mind when playing the role.

Maruoka: Yuki-chan has an incredible gap between her character and her true character…I am one of the people whose heart was pierced by that gap (laughs). That’s why I wanted to play her with the intention of not only capturing that gap, but also her true essence!

She has so much depth…so I tried to act each and every one of her many different aspects carefully!

— Yuki is unique in that she has two roles, that of a childhood friend and a younger sister. Were there any joys or difficulties in playing these two different roles?

Maruoka: I love both sides of Yuki-chan, so it was a lot of fun to play them differently! When she was in little sister mode, or rather otaku mode, I didn’t think about how to act, but rather how to become a realistic otaku!

I think it would be too exaggerated to play an otaku… (laughs) So please leave the realism to me!! (laughs)

–The fourth episode that aired the other day was an episode in which Aarya and Masachika became much closer. How do you feel about their relationship, Mr. Maruoka?

Maruoka: It was too good… it was so good I felt like I was melting… Until now, the two had been spending time together without saying anything clear, but Masachika’s one word brought them closer together in an instant…!! It’s not just affection, it’s like trust and passion… I want to keep an eye on this relationship between these two that can’t be expressed in words…!

–Episode 2 was the episode that focused on Yuki, but do you have any stories or memories from the dubbing? Also, what did you think when you actually watched episode 2?

Maruoka: I was so happy to finally be able to show this look to everyone! I tried really hard to hide it from people who knew Yuki from the anime so as not to give away any spoilers, so when I actually got to see the anime I was like, “It’s here!!” and got really excited!

At the recording studio, many people liked spicy food, so everyone was recording while starving (laughs).
