The album “Hello Kitty 50th Anniversary Presents My Bestie Voice Collection with Sanrio characters,” which includes many of the long-loved Sanrio character songs and other classic songs that have captivated a wide range of generations, as well as heartwarming readings, was released on Wednesday, June 26th.

The album also includes the songs “KAWAII FESTIVAL” and “Hello Kitty” sung by the entire cast.
In addition, a concert featuring Sanrio characters and the entire cast will be held on Sunday, November 24th!
To celebrate the release of the album, Animate Times will be delivering interviews with the cast for 12 consecutive days. This is the 12th installment, and this time we have Mori Shuuto, who sings “I’m Pekkle” [Pekkle the Duck]. He talked about his memories with Sanrio characters and his thoughts on this project.
–How did you feel when you heard about doing an album of Sanrio character song covers?
Mori Shuto (hereinafter, Mori): The 12 voice actors will collaborate with 12 characters, and I was most surprised to be chosen as one of them, and I’m happy to be able to collaborate with the incredibly cute character, Pekkle the Duck.
–Please tell us about your memories of Sanrio characters.
Mori: I remember going to a department store with my grandmother and eating popcorn from the “Hello Kitty” popcorn machine. I especially liked the curry flavor.
──Do you own any Sanrio goods?
Mori: I’ve had some help from Sanrio in the past with the drama, so I treasure the character goods I received then and keep them on display at home. So I feel it’s a wonderful opportunity to be connected to Sanrio again through this work.
–Are there any characters other than your own that you’re interested in?
Mori: I’m interested in Kero Kero Keroppi because he’s so cute.
–What do you think are similar to the characters you play?
Mori: My hobbies of singing and dancing are similar. I can’t fly though (laughs).
Also, people around me have told me that we both have similar, carefree faces, so I feel that we do look alike, and I’m happy to be able to collaborate with “Pekkle the Duck” once again.
–Are there any other characters besides Pekkle the Duck that you have something in common with?
Mori: “Dear Daniel.” I also like cameras, and I can play the piano, although it’s just a hobby. We also share a naive and sentimental personality.
