They’ve also been confirmed to appear in a new drama! GMMTV’s new group LYKN is coming to Japan! Live and fan event report and exclusive interview at Animate Ikebukuro main storeFrom Tuesday, May 14th, 2024 to Thursday, May 16th, 2024, a live and fan event featuring LYKN, SEA/KEEN, who are affiliated with GMM TV, a major Thai entertainment company that produces television programs and acts as a talent agent, was held at the Animate Theater on the B2F of Animate Ikebukuro Main Store.

In this article, we will be bringing you a report and exclusive interview from the LYKN event held on Thursday, May 16th.

LYKN, consisting of William, Lego, Tui, Hong, and Nut, was selected from the audition program “Project Alpha” broadcast on GMM 25. This is the first fan event for this new boy band, who just debuted in May last year.

As soon as they appeared on stage, they quickly formed up and a whistling intro started… As the fans who got it started cheering, they performed their debut song “May I?” with energetic dancing, and greeted the audience powerfully in Japanese, “We are LYKN!” After that, each member introduced themselves in Japanese.

William: “This is the first time I’ve been to an event this close, so I’m really happy.”

Lego: “Honestly, I’m still nervous. But I’m excited that we might be able to do something unique to a fan event this time. Let’s have fun today with full energy!”

Nut: “This is my first fan event, so I’m really happy! I came to Japan last year, but this time I’m excited to be performing in a bigger venue.”

Hong: “I didn’t expect so many fans to come! I look forward to your continued support.”

Tui: “I’m really happy. I want to sing lots of songs for you all today. Do you want to hear them? (Cheers) Thank you.”

At the end of his self-introduction, William said, “Today I’ve come up with something that will excite you all,” which spread a sense of anticipation among the audience.

When the topic turned to “What would you like to do when you come to Japan?”, they lit up as they said “I want to go on an adventure” and smiled as they said “I want to take a walk”. The fans laughed and applauded in sympathy with each word. Then, Tui shouted “(making a heart shape with her fingers) I love you!”, saying “Since I’ve come all the way to Japan, I want to say something to everyone in Japanese”. Hong then asked “Are you all nervous?” and Nut said “You’re so cute!”. When Lego said “Sorry for being so cool”, William replied “Sorry for being so cool!”, and the audience cheered “So cool!”.

From here, they moved on to the variety corner. It was a game where you had to guess the song just from the sounds of their dance steps. For each question, the members were split into two groups, and one after another they performed their dance steps, and had to guess the name of the song just from the sounds of the rhythm. If they didn’t get it right, there was a penalty game in store. You might think it would be a difficult game, but the fans were amazed at the sharpness and deep bond between the members, who were able to deduce the name of the song just from the sounds of their steps. However, there was laughter when they added a lot of footsteps to make the name of the song harder to guess.

Although they cleared the dance game without incident, the penalty game still had to be carried out (lol), and in response to the calls for “LYKN”, the members appeared dressed in costumes of famous Japanese characters. As the audience pointed their cameras at them, the members showed off various poses one after another, eliciting cheers of “So cute!” and “So cool!” from the audience.

Next is a game using Post-it notes. First, the members stick Post-it notes on each other’s bodies. The game is to dance while music is playing and knock down as many Post-it notes as possible. Of course, the person who knocks down the most Post-it notes wins.

As the music started, the members performed an intense dance to the rhythm. Making the most of their natural athletic ability, they knocked off the Post-it notes that were stuck all over their bodies, even the ones on their backs. Just when it seemed like most of the Post-it notes had fallen off, Nut was the only one with two left, so he had to play the penalty game. For the penalty game, they struck various poses at the request of the other members, and the game corner was a huge success from start to finish.
