“Isekai Shikkaku” is a cynical, black humor-filled “other world x literary giant x double suicide x dark fantasy” story currently being serialized in Shogakukan’s “Yawaraka Spirits” with a story by Noda Hiroshi, who also worked on the “friend-eating” gourmet manga “The Little Mermaid’s Sorry Meals,” and illustrations by Wakamatsu Takuhiro.
The story begins when the literary master “Sensei” wakes up in a church in another world after attempting to commit suicide with his mistress “Sacchan.” According to the priest who guided him, Sensei was “chosen and transferred,” and like many others, he is tasked with the mission of a hero. However, he does not have “something” that is given to all those who are transferred. Branded as a “failed person,” Sensei’s adventure begins as he seeks to find Sacchan, who must be somewhere, and achieve his wish of that day… a double suicide.
Episode 1: “We Must Commit Suicide Together!”
Synopsis: Sensei is about to hold hands with his beloved Sacchan and fulfill his wish of committing suicide together when he is hit by a passing truck.
When he came to his senses, he found himself in another world.
The female priestess Annette told him that he had been chosen to be the hero who would save Zauberberg, a world shrouded in darkness, and that he had been transported there.
The first episode of “Isekai Shikkaku” “We Must Commit Suicide!” will be broadcast on TOKTO MX, AT-X, and others from Tuesday, July 9th. It will also be available on ABEMA and Netflix before being broadcast on terrestrial TV.
