On Saturday, June 15th, the “Ramen Akaneko” advance screening commemorative stage greeting ~Greetings~” was held at Shinjuku Wald 9! The six actors who appeared on stage were Tsuda Kenjiro (Bunzo), Sugiyama Noriaki ( Sasaki ), Murase Michiyo (Sabu) , Kugimiya Rie (Hana), Hayami Saori (Krishna), and Orihara Kurumi (Yasuko).
A stage greeting to commemorate the advance screening of “Ramen Akaneko,” a TV anime adaptation of a popular comic that won 5th place in the Web Manga category of the “Next Manga Awards 2022,” was held at a movie theater in Tokyo on June 15th, with voice actors Kenjiro Tsuda, Noriaki Sugiyama, Michiyo Murase, Rie Kugimiya, Saori Hayami, and Kurumi Orihara in attendance.
This is a unique work story that depicts the daily lives of the main character, a human named Tamako, who ends up working at a restaurant run only by cats, along with the manager Bunzo, the CEO Sasaki, the cook Sabu, the customer service manager Hana, and the noodle maker Krishna. Ahead of its broadcast on July 4th, the film has been released in theaters for a limited period of two weeks since yesterday.
In front of the packed venue, Tsuda, who plays Bunzo, greeted the audience with a lively “Welcome!” Most of the voice actors then responded with greetings in keeping with the worldview of the work, such as “Welcome!” and “Thank you for coming!”, and the stage greeting began in an atmosphere of great appreciation for the opening of “Ramen Akaneko”.
Tsuda, who played the character of a cat, said, “Even though he’s a cat, he’s almost human, so I didn’t think about playing the role of a cat,” and proudly stated, “He’s a cat who opened a ramen shop after training. He’s not just any cat!” Sugiyama, who plays Sasaki, also said, “The story unfolds like a human drama,” and that he acted with a “2.6-dimensional” sensibility.
Murase, who plays a supporting role, used to have a black cat as a pet and was very happy to be cast in a supporting role. Kugimiya, who plays Hana, said she had no hesitation in taking on the role of a cat. Hayami, who plays Krishna, is a tiger character, so apparently watched a video of a tiger eating scene and used that information to help prepare for the role. Orihara, who plays Tamako, is playing her first main character role and expressed her joy and gratitude at working with the other cast members.
In keeping with the image of Ramen Akaneko’s employee cats, who approach their work with sincerity, each cat shared what they “keep in mind when working.”
Tsuda said it’s “passion,” and explained, “I do my work with passion so that it doesn’t become routine or a routine process.”
Sugiyama said, “I listen to what the other person is saying,” and Murase said, “I’m not saying that I’m good or bad, but I’m sure I’ll pass on the baton of lines I received from my co-stars.”
Kugimiya said, “I’ll go to the recording site and do a good job.”
Hayami said, “I will be the key to the work.”
Orihara replied, “I pump up my stomach before recording to make it easier to speak.”
To celebrate the advance screening at the cinema, a Bunzo costume appeared. As a special gift for visitors, he brought along an original illustration card with an illustration by the original author, Angyaman, which was given out in the first week, and a stamp-style sticker which was given out in the second week.
We will also introduce the official “Ramen Aka Neko” smartphone game, “Ramen Aka Neko: A Wonderful Nyan Ramen Shop.”
Furthermore, the web radio show “Ramen Akaneko Nyante Suteki na In-Store Broadcast (Radio)” started on June 7. The first guest, Tsuda, mentioned Orihara, who serves as the MC, and said, “When Orihara is on set as a newcomer, it links with Tamako entering the store called Ramen Akaneko. This is reflected in the radio show, and it’s a fresh show that is half documentary, as a story of growth.”
Orihara said with relief, “On the first broadcast, guest Tsuda-san supported me throughout, so I was able to see it through to the end.”
Finally, speaking on behalf of the work, Tsuda said, “It’s a heartwarming and uplifting work that makes ramen look delicious. Please have a bowl of ramen nearby when you watch it. It’s aired once a week so it won’t put a strain on your body and you won’t feel guilty watching it. If you find it interesting, please take it up on social media and tweet your thoughts about it, and I’ll do a egosearch later. I hope you won’t miss it every week and enjoy it in a light-hearted way. I hope it will enrich everyone’s lives even just a little!”
The painted prototype of “Nendoroid Bunzo”, which will be released by Good Smile Company, has also been revealed! Please look forward to further updates!
