This work is a life-sized youth ensemble drama about “craftsmanship” brought to you by the up-and-coming video production team “Hurray!” and Tohru Hanada, who has worked on “Love Live!” and “A Place Further Than the Universe.”

His main tool for drawing is the free 3DCG software “Blender,” and his unique and delicate image creations have attracted attention.

In this article, we bring you an interview with Izumi Fuka, who plays Nakagawa Moemi, a classmate of Asaya Kanata. Nakagawa Moemi, who started playing the bass when she entered high school, asks Kanata to make a music video for the school festival promotion. She talked about her impressions of Nakagawa Moemi, who has many friends and is a central figure in the class, and the appeal of this work.

──First of all, please tell us what the appeal of the film “A Few Minutes of Cheer” is.

Izumi Fuka (Izumi), who plays Nakagawa Moemi: The video was full of fun gimmicks and was exciting to watch! Whether you’re currently chasing your dreams or have experience chasing your dreams, I think there will be a moment when you think, “I’m glad I did it, it wasn’t in vain.” I think that’s the most appealing part of the show.

──After reading the script (or the script) for this work and then actually recording, what was your impression of “Nakagawa Moemi” that you play? Also, please tell us if your impression changed before and after recording.

Izumi: My first impression was that she was a girl with a straightforward and bright personality. She doesn’t say things because she wants to be seen that way, but she can honestly express what she thinks, and without even realizing it, she encourages others. I had the impression that she was a bright girl who was calm and could see things from a bird’s-eye view, and I was very relieved when she said during the dubbing that she was just like the image she had in mind.

–What do you think is the inner self of the character Nakagawa Moemi, what are the similarities between you and her, and what is it about her personality that you like?

Izumi: I think the common point is that we both pay close attention to our surroundings. In my case, I’m curious about what’s going on around me, and I want to act in a good way…! That’s what I feel, so Moemi has a strong sense of self, is honest, well-liked by people, cheerful, and cute… there are only good things about her…!!

–As Asaya Kanata, played by Hanae Natsuki, grows up, Nakagawa gives hints about “manufacturing.” What do you think about Nakagawa’s presence as the story progresses?

Izumi: I don’t think Moemi was trying to cheer up Kanata. She told him honestly that it was wonderful because Kanata had made something “good.” I think that was a word that gave Kanata a push at the time, a way to overcome the wall he was facing. Moemi’s ability to do that so casually is also very wonderful.

──The theme of this work is “manufacturing,” and I felt that it had something in common with acting in terms of “expression.” Please tell us what you felt about the work, such as the feelings of the characters you sympathized with and any discoveries you made.

Izumi: There were many scenes that made my heart ache while watching. I understand Kanata’s sparkling feelings. But I also really understand Orishige-sensei and Tonozaki’s feelings…!!

The first thing is what I told Orishige-sensei at the ocean. I’ve had a lot of times where I didn’t get results, but I can be proud of all the time I’ve worked hard. I felt glad that I’d worked hard because I found this work.

–Finally, I’m sure there are many highlights, so please tell us which is your favorite scene.

Izumi: There are so many scenes I like…!!

Visually, one of my favorite scenes was the one where Kanata starts making the music video and loses track of time as he becomes more and more absorbed in it, with more and more gadgets appearing around his desk, tissues changing, and the paper on the wall increasing and changing. I loved the scenes with fun visual gimmicks like that!
