Shino Shimoji, Nao Higashiyama, Tomokazu Sugita, and Mamiko Noto took to the stage and excited the audience with their live dubbing and dice talk.
On Sunday, May 26, 2024, an event commemorating the release of the first volume of Blu-ray of the TV anime “SHY” was held at Akihabara UDX Theater. The cast includes Shimoji Shino (Shy/Momijiyama Teru), Higashiyama Nao (Koishikawa Keiko), Sugita Tomokazu (Ebio), and Noto Mamiko (Spirits). Of the events held in Parts 1 and 2, we will deliver the details of Part 2.
The four people who took the stage had a peaceful atmosphere from the opening greetings. It seems that there was some lively conversation in the dressing room between the first part, and with that atmosphere in mind, we headed to the first corner, “Dice Talk.” We rolled the dice and developed an episode talk based on the talk theme that came out.
The first person, Mr. Sugita, gave an indoor story'' about how he doesn't know when to put away the blankets in his room, full of his everyday life. Mr. Noto, who brought up an embarrassing story,” makes us laugh by telling a story that is often seen in manga, where he had glasses on his head and was looking for them, saying, “Glasses…glasses…”. In the end, he noticed it when he looked in the mirror.
What everyone was wondering about was Mr. Shimoji’s story about not being able to give up''. Mr. Shimoji has loved matcha-flavored foods since before he could remember, but for some reason over the past few years, he has become satisfied with just two bites. Maybe I’m getting old?” he said jokingly, but he couldn’t seem to give up.
Mr. Higashiyama’s answer to the question “Who is your hero?” was “your mother.” When taking the junior high school entrance exam, Mr. Higashiyama surprised everyone with an anecdote about how he created a notebook containing the kanji he was weak at and gave it to him on the morning of the entrance exam. Thanks to that, he was able to get into his first choice school.
Mr. Sugita, who came back to the show, talked about his embarrassing story'' and expressed his belief that he would never pursue or blame others for their failures. She also talked about the appeal of the work, saying, The good thing about this work is that it turns the word shy into a positive word.” At the end, Mr. Noto tells a story about how he failed due to alcohol. Mr. Sugita criticized him for sharing a story about his many failures, including how he often lost his wallet when he drank alcohol, so for a time he carried around his banknotes completely naked.
Next is the “Live dubbing corner”. The following scenes selected by advance voting will be performed in live dubbing starting from 4th place. It was a complete change from the atmosphere of the talk earlier, and they showed a soulful performance with powerful and tense lines and delicate breathing.
1st place: “I love you, Ma-ma” from episode 11 “What to convey, what to leave behind”
2nd place: “I am an indoor character, or inky for short” from episode 3 “Table Talk”
3rd place: 10 From the story Lonely Ice and a Small Fire'': That frozen heart…I’ll light it!”
4th place: From Episode 2, With all my heart'' Please pour out all the hate inside of you on me.” Good!”
In between live dubbing, there was also talk about each scene. The 4th place scene, in which Keiko’s enthusiastic performance was also impressive, reveals the story behind how Higashiyama had the dubbing schedule changed to the day after her own live performance so that she could perform with all her might. It was an episode that conveyed the feelings I put into this scene.
Unlike the powerful scenes in 4th and 3rd place, the 2nd place is a scene depicting everyday life. Shimoji says that inkya'' is often written as yinkya,” but if you want to call it indoor character,” it’s a mild way to say it.”In general, inkya'' is an abbreviation for indoor character.” Mr. Higashiyama, who was thinking this, looks surprised. Furthermore, when the topic of Ebio came up, the four of us couldn’t help but wonder about the source of power, such as whether Ebio eats rice.
The scene that won first place was “I love you, Mama.” Mr. Noto’s raw performance, filled with emotion, elicited exclamations such as I got goosebumps'' and My heart was so tight.” It was a wonderful opportunity to witness a passionate performance worthy of being ranked number one.
In addition, “Tensin Rin No Nazo” and “Omaehadareda” from the OMAKE corner that played in part C of the main story were also performed in a special live recording. It was a special version full of ad-libs that could only be heard at the event, as it didn’t have a voice on air.

放送情報や商品情報の告知では、2024年8月発売の「PROPLICA 転心輪」の実物も登場。下地さんと能登さんが実際に装着し、変身シーンが再現できるギミックを楽しんでいました。
最後に、4人からイベントの感想や第2期に向けた意気込みが語られました。
能登「作品のことや楽しいお話をして、あっという間に時間が過ぎてしまいました。頑張ろうという気持ちや前向きな気持ち、生きているっていいなと思えることなど、すごく温かいパワーが詰まった作品だと改めて感じましたね。第2期はキャラクターも増えてますますパワーアップしますし、現場は熱く楽しくやっております。ぜひ7月からの放送を楽しみにしていてください」
杉田「ヒーローを題材にした作品は多いですが、そこはチャンピオン汁ほとばしる秋田書店さんの『SHY』ですよ。アプローチがほかと違うんですよね。テル（シャイ）のヒーロー像は、勇気や優しさが全く押し付けがましくなく、すごく謙虚なんです。でも、自虐にも見えない、稀有なタイプだなと思います。こんなにも優しさや穏やかな自分の心の置き方で人を救うのは、まさにヒーローなんじゃないか、ってシャイに対して勝手に思っています。今後ともよろしくえびよ」
東山「皆さんが選んでくださったシーンをアフレコさせていただきましたが、鬼気迫るシーンもたくさんある中、テルと惟子ののほほんとしたシーンも上位に入っていて。ヒーローとしての必死の戦いだけでなく、テルちゃんが普通の女の子として歩む小さな一歩もすごく大切に描かれている、いろんな温かさが詰まっている作品だと改めて感じました。第2期でもキャラクターたちの葛藤が描かれますけど、敵もただの悪い人じゃないんですよね。第2期でどんなキャラクターが出てきて、どんな思いを打ち明けてくれるのか、ぜひご覧いただけたらと思います」
下地「生アフレコで『ちゃんと（好きだよって）伝えればよかったなぁ』ってペペシャさんのセリフがありましたけど、それって日々感じることだなと思っています。『SHY』に出会い、テルちゃんに出会ってから、ちょっと恥ずかしいけど『ありがとう』と言おうとか、『嬉しかった』と伝えようと思うことが増えてきました。私もインドアなキャラクター、略して“インキャ”ですが（笑）、そのおかげで前向きに優しさを届けたい気持ちがちょっとずつ大きくなった気がします。皆さんも『SHY』に触れて、そういう気持ちに少しでもなってくれたら嬉しいです。第2期もそう思えるような、繊細で優しい気持ちを取りこぼさないようにという思いが感じられる作品になっていますので、楽しんで見てくれたら嬉しいです」
退場する際には、杉田さんから「『SHY』の収録のあとに、海老天丼を食ってすみませんでした！」との懺悔もあり、最後までみんなを楽しませてくれたイベントは終了となりました。
