At the same time, a preview video using the song has been released.

Additionally, we have received comments from Mr.Children’s Kazutoshi Sakurai, who was in charge of songwriting, director Naoko Yamada, and producer Genki Kawamura.

・Song title: “in the pocket”

・Mr.Children (TOY’S FACTORY) Lyrics/Composer: Kazutoshi Sakurai

The video is about Totsuko, a high school student who can see people in colors, and Kimi, a girl who went to the same school with beautiful colors, and Louis, a music-loving boy she met at a used bookstore in a corner of town. It starts with a comical scene where they decide to form a band.

The sight of three people who share each other’s “loves” and “secrets” communicating through their band activities is filled with a somewhat nostalgic atmosphere, and even though it’s only for a short time, just watching it warms your heart. It makes me feel good.

At the age of 17, there is a vague sense of anxiety about what lies ahead, and Sister Hiyoshiko’s words, We can start over again as many times as we want.'' Also pay attention to the song in the pocket,” which was written especially for this work, and which rhythmically flows along with the video.

The protagonists of this film seem delicate, like unfired pottery, as if they could break with the slightest force.

In other words, it’s soft and supple.

One day (coincidentally, the same day I had the opportunity to speak with Director Yamada for the first time), when I parked my car in the parking lot of the meeting place, I found a flightless baby sparrow that had fallen from its nest.

I got worried, so I picked her up and took her home. When I searched the internet to find out how to raise them, I found that the “fledged chicks” (as they are called) that have fallen out of the nest practice flying away again with their parents and grow up.

I hurriedly returned to the place where I found the chick, apologized to the parent bird who was probably looking for the chick, and returned the chick to the place where I had picked it up.

While wishing for healthy growth. .

Like the baby bird I met that day, I want the protagonists to fly away supple and strong, maintaining their delicateness and softness, without having to pick them up, push them on their backs, or apply force.

I recorded it with the hope that it would be a song like that.

It was as if a ray of light had suddenly come through the blurred clouds.

It was dazzling, but it had a clear outline, and I felt that the music had a very vivid color.

However, when I listened to it again, I started to see some ambiguous colors, and I was fascinated by the combination of various colors that formed this song, and pressed the play button over and over again.

When I listen to Mr.Children’s music, I can’t help but think about the “someone” who is portrayed from the main character’s perspective.

It could be the girlfriend'' or her best friend” depicted in the song. Even though he was a complete stranger to me, I felt like he was the person I admired, and I felt like I was heartbroken along with him.

The song tells you about places and smells you’ve never experienced before, making your heart flutter as if you’re watching a movie.

Mr.Children’s music will stay with you throughout your life.

I never thought I would be able to hear and see the world reflected in Sakurai’s eyes in “Kimi no Iro.”

When we met for the first time at a meeting, Mr. Sakurai said with a crumpled smile and showed me the sparrow he had protected in a cardboard box.She felt softer, stronger, and more ephemeral than anything else in the room, and she fell in love with him completely. I decided to give myself up to him.
